  1. Latex 26500 double print

Wow, that's interesting indeed. Unfortunately I don't work on Flexi, but I'd hedge my bets on it being a software issue on either Flexi, or less possibly, the printer's firmware. So this is happening with all files, and all file types, all sizes? What if you flatten as a TIFF and reduce the size...
  2. NEVER BUY A ROLAND!

Here's the simple, unavoidable fact as I see it. Every OEM at some stage will leave you hanging. It's just life. I've owned various ink-technology-based printers over the last 25+ years from most of the major brands, and they all fail in their duties in some form or another at some stage...
  3. Is it insulting to point out the desired way to set up 3rd party files?

Insulting? It’s my standard response to BS print-files. Especially if it needs our specific cut contours, crease lines etc. I send a set of instruction, plus reasons why certain things are different from litho and a file with the correct colour for post press workflows. And still we’ll get the...
  4. HP (Summa) cutter making random erratic cuts - crisis mode here

Post the file so we can try on our Summa. Might, just maybe, be a corrupt file.
  5. Question HP l26500 Faulty Ink Cartridge Error

Just a guess here, but is it a third-party cartridge? When originals were still available I had 1 or 2 faulty chips in 100’s and 100’s of cartridges. When we had to start using aftermarket stuff we started getting faulty ones every 5-10 units.
  6. CMKY/pantone Sending artwork for outsource digital printing

You’re very mistaken. A properly profiled hexachrome system (including a capable RIP, driver, workflow etc) absolutely widens the available gamut on a CMYK+OG printer. The light colours are mostly there to smooth out tonal ranges, but orange and green have a greater function. And your statement...
  7. CMKY/pantone Sending artwork for outsource digital printing

Haha, I just posted practically exactly the same remarks. Nice to see someone that else understands this.
  8. CMKY/pantone Sending artwork for outsource digital printing

Light colours don’t really expand on the colour gamut. It’s actually intented for smoothing out the lower ranges of certain colours so it either doesn’t clip the colour or print it very grainy. Now if your printer uses a hexchrome system, which is not likely, then you’ll be dealing with an...
  9. LEF300 "Close Front Cover" error

Possibly through a maintenance mode, but I seriously doubt it. A mechanical bypass is the way to go if it’s really, really needed.
  10. Declining jobs based on moral/ethical grounds

What a horrible, horrible story. Man, it’s so disheartening knowing that so many people opt for this way out. I hope the family and friends are there for those parents.
  11. Declining jobs based on moral/ethical grounds

I think if it was legal then industry would absolutely find a way to make money out of it, and insurance would be right there. Make no mistake, assisted suicide is a hard one because there are so many legal and family moving parts.
  12. Declining jobs based on moral/ethical grounds

    Couldn’t agree more.
  13. Declining jobs based on moral/ethical grounds

Not really a fair split given that the man can walk away at any point. The woman is the one carrying the child in her body, and will need to provide for the child after birth for decades. It’s not like we’re each carrying half a baby that plops together in the end. So no, it’s absolutely not a...
  14. Declining jobs based on moral/ethical grounds

Well, I think it is a person’s choice for assisted suicide. I might be wrong, but there are some countries that are waking up to this choice and have made it legal. We might not like it, family might not agree, but it’s mostly for well-meaning selfish reasons that others want to keep you around...
  15. Just In Sheet Yield Nesting/Imposition Calculator

I’m an idiot for not even noticing!! That’s why you can make these calculators and too many of us can only use them. Thanks for sharing!
  16. Declining jobs based on moral/ethical grounds

Hey, common? Nobody said you have no issue with rape. Without knowing you I’d put money on the chance that you would come to the defence of someone being raped. I certainly didn’t imply anything along those lines. But you’re not responding to the main issue or you’re completely missing the point...
  17. Declining jobs based on moral/ethical grounds

So without fighting about this (like somebody here said, this isn’t facebook), I do find your view severely short sighted. Without even removing god from your view, how do you account for girls being raped every single day by family, strangers, or people in authority over them? With keeping god...
  18. Just In Sheet Yield Nesting/Imposition Calculator

Oh no, this is all in weird American playtime-for-kids inches and feet. Maybe make one for the grown-ups around the world that use Metric ? Yes, I’m only kidding about your ridiculous measuring ways.
  19. Declining jobs based on moral/ethical grounds

Really sad to see such strong, close-minded views and support on a sign forum about the rights that people feel they have over others…
