  1. hp315 printing grays as tan

Yes you are correct so no need to avoid printing grays. Or build your file and set your RIP to use K only.
  2. hp315 printing grays as tan

Then I would create a new media preset and not attempt to calibrate it with the printer. Then create a Linearization and Profile with your RIP.
  3. hp315 printing grays as tan

Calibration/Re-Linearization and the create your own media profile on top of that and then Re-Calibrate/Re-Linearization especially when you need to hit grays.
  4. Question Print factory colors not matching PF swatch book

So you are using both Flexi and Print Factory to print with. I am not surprise that the color doesn't match if your trying to match a color printed with Print Factory when printing with Flexi.
  5. Question Print factory colors not matching PF swatch book

So if you print a PDF from Flexi and open that PDF in Acrobat what Pantone Spot Color shows in Acrobat? If that is correct, the when import that PDF into Print Factory what Spot Color is Print Factory showing? Make sure you are not converting to process color somewhere along the workflow.
  6. HP 700W: Printing a good black

It is a contone printer but you can tell your RIP to print pure primaries. I did test Print Factory and it would not print pure primaries even when selected. May be other RIPs that have this fault as well. But be careful with your RIP linearization as it can knock down you pure colors even with...
  7. HP 700W: Printing a good black

Why aren't you using 100% Output Black or is the pure black that you see in the calibration target not good enough? I am sure your RIP (which ever one it is) has the tools to print pure 100% black. I always print my pure black as pure black and use those tools to not colormanage 100% input...
  8. HP Latex 365 - Printing Issues

I have the 700W. Before that I had the 12500 and then for about 10 years ran the 360. We didn't run much tiled panels but Ink starvation was a problem with the 360 for some jobs. We just had to recognize when it might be a problem and set the print mode and interpass delay to minimize it.
  9. HP Latex 365 - Printing Issues

That depends what your meaning of fix is. Where it helps with is ink starvation issues and has more nozzles available to use to bypass clogged nozzles. In general observation I would say yes it is an improvement but the nature of Latex ink is such that there is always going to be some shifting...

  12. Caldera y-axis cutting marks reading on FC9000

I finally found the answer in some Caldera documents. You have to also have middle X-axis marks to be able to read the front Y-axis mark.
  13. Caldera y-axis cutting marks reading on FC9000

Is it possible to read the y-axis registration marks created by Caldera? I can not find any info on how to do this. The HP 700W printing bows just enough in the middle to throw off small cut out stickers but I can not get the FC9000 to read the y-axis marks created by Caldera so I can not...
  14. HP Latex 365 - Printing Issues

It is nice that they final learned their lesson and went back to two lc/lm printheads in the 700/800 series.

  16. laminating table

So he expects you to do a job on a machine it wasn't designed to do that job?
  17. laminating table

I can understand using a laminating table for some work, but roll to roll laminator you can do everything with so a table should be your second laminator unless you are so specialized that you would on need the table.
  18. Colour Calibrations obsolete everyday since firmware update

Running into this on the 700W. Anyone ever get this figured out. Resetting calibration doesn't seem to make any difference.
