Ugh. I despise directory updates!! You're right about lots of hands being on them over the years. Probably because most shops hate this type of work.......and I'm one of them.
If you can sell them a whole new one....... https://www.clarkesystems.com/modular-slatz-vinyl/
Good luck :thumb:
Hey Scott I completely forgot that you had an Epson! Glad to hear that you've been happy with yours. Realistically the Colorado is probably too much printer for us too but I can see it potentially replacing both our current printers.
I wish I had an excuse to come to Toronto so we could...
Thank you all for the great feedback - that's really helpful. I get that they're 2 drastically different platforms but they're the 2 we're considering right now.
My train of thought was that we either get into a S60600 to get us by for now at the lowest price point, or take the plunge and...
We've had good success with Roland for the past 10+ years but I'm not interested in their new models or business model. Time to move into something else.
So our daily driven Roland XR-640 is dead in the water and no solution in sight. Our only other roll to roll printer is our Mimaki UCJV.
I'm looking at either a 1650 or M3 (CMYK) or Epson S60600/S60600L. Don't need/want white....already been down that road and have other printers for that...
Yeah it's been insane in Winnipeg so far.... AC been going non-stop at home and at the shop. Highs of 40ish with the humidity and lows of only 20 or so for the last couple of weeks. Definitely not May/June weather.
Has anyone noticed any recent changes to Acrobat Pro in terms of how it handles and prints portfolios?
A common process we have used for years is to select multiple PDF's (from File Explorer), right click --> Combine files in Acrobat, then print using "Multiple" pages in print options. This...
We bought Onyx and hired a tech from a Canadian company, so unfortunately that won't be much help.
As greysquirrel mentioned, see if you can find someone that you can have come out and train you/your staff on how to create profiles and use the equipment/RIP.
I would think at a minimum you...
Agreed. We brought in tech to help create some basic profiles for all our printers and it was well worth the money.
We're using Onyx Thrive to run all our equipment, and for the most part it works pretty good.

I'll need to play around with it some more. Tried using it on one of our recent wedding picture (Hands showing rings) and it said it violated some kind of policy. Huh?
Definitely pretty interesting technology. Will explore more. Love the examples you guys have shared already lol.... we...
