  1. Anyone having this problem-GS6000

P.S. After hearing these problems with the green I've setup Ergo to run a gutter stripe to keep an eye on it...might want to try that if you haven't already.
  2. Anyone having this problem-GS6000

I'm also using Ergosoft...no problems here. I paid for the 3 year warranty, so of course I'll never need it or have problems!
  3. Anyone having this problem-GS6000

You must be getting a bad batch of green ink, who's selling it to you? Check the numbers. Is it all from the same batch?...I've put 60 litres through mine and no problems. Though I did hear that Colorburst wasn't utilising the green ink channel properly...maybe heresay. Must be frustrating...
  4. Vinyl panels on windows

I don't order the stuff so I don't know exact price but probably around $280-$300 a roll, we mostly laminate 99% of everything, but the IJ1220 is pretty thick to start with, so easier to work with if print is a couple days dry, unlaminated and with wet application. I don't install anymore so...
  5. Vinyl panels on windows

use 3m IJ1220 with the grey solvent adhesive or the Rijet with clear solvent adhesive with wet application...get it from Halifax Vogel. If you're applying it internally (print facing out) use the 3m IJ1220 clear with the Rijet as the white backing....we do loads of this.
  6. If you were to move...

jeez fitch you live in the best city in the world already.....
  7. Lost Job but I have a Roland Versacamm VP540

If you're not committed to eating, breathing and sleeping the sign business 24/7 for at least the next 12 months, forget it... you'll be worse of than you are now. You have to make that commitment. These threads remind me of those documentaries where out of every 100 turtle hatchlings, only 1...
  8. Blog advice

Nobodys interested in talking about banners...about as interesting as discussing sandpaper.... You have a good website with good ranking and traffic, your time and effort would be better spent plugging away building upon that.
  9. new company logo

Tiki has created a great looking logo/design as usual! I like it...
  10. new company logo

I think in all the designs that there is too much emphasis put on the mountains....to me it says 'ski resort'. Might try a bit more subtlety or a bit more abstract. To my eye, you definitely want them as part of the design but to hit you after the main message in a more subliminal way. But...
  11. What is the smallest letter I can cut?

I've cut a lot of letters 1/2" and smaller in 1/8" and even 1/4" acrylic with a 1/16" bit on the router before we got the laser. Slow down your feed rates, set your z height so you cut the letter but leave the masking (paper/plastic protector) intact and that will hold the letters. If you can...
  12. 3/4" aluminum

Good advice...only thing I'd add is you may want to add a cleanup pass as by the time you've cut through this lot your tool will have worn a little and you may get a slightly stepped edge. All depends on the finish required of course. So leave a couple of mm depth for a .2mm clean up pass (just...
  13. Turn $20 into $5000 - is it possible?

If anyone thinks they can compete head on with a vinyl cutter or a solvent printer with their paintbrush they're a fool. Sure I'll paint a sign on a brick wall or do a goldleaf job, paint some faux marble ...but I'll charge double what I think it's worth to make it pay or make it go away...
  14. What r the chances the monitors are biased by there involvement with equipment sales?

I thought this guy was still in Corcoran.
  15. Turn $20 into $5000 - is it possible?

Freehand...as a third generation signwriter (and I'm quite sure Dave is as well) this stuff you've showed us hurts our eyes...it goes against everything we have ever been taught. If I were to write that on the side of some customers van, I would have been made to wipe it off... along with a...
  16. laminator alignment

Having used a few different laminators over the years, here's my advice for what it's worth... Foremost reason I've found for lamininate/print not running straight (considering everything else is mounted correctly on the laminator : printed roll wound correctly, nice & straight, laminate roll...
  17. Epson GS6000

We have two Gs6000's and I can't understand the problems people are having. First off I wouldn't use Flexi/Photoprint RIP, I don't trust it to get the best out of the machine...we use Ergosoft with dealer supplied profiles and the print quality, speed and workflow is great. I'd also use...
  18. gold leaf clear back paint on glass?

You can use a clear...problem is if your hand lettering it's hard to see what your doing.
  19. Laminating Long Runs... Problems...

I think there is a lot of truth in this statement as I found out after replacing 2 sets of rollers...now we have a laminator and an applicator and never had a problem since. A Seal Base 54 should be able to run roll after roll of perfectly laminated prints. At least one does for another sign...
  20. Homemade Vinyl Roll Dispenser

    my thoughts exactly...
