You want to make sure the printhead itself is periodically cleaned like once a week minimum. There might be dust gathering around the head and the more you print, the ink will drip onto the material. Clean with swabs and cleaning solution.

You might want to take a look at the dampers, cap top and the printheads. Dampers and cap top should be changed once a year. Life span for a printhead is about 3-5 years depends on the usage and maintenance. Of course use quality ink...
