Anyone have tips for accommodating a hanger bar face when fabricating a stick built lighted cabinet? I know I can get the kit from Signcomp, but it just seems a little pricey. These are acrylic faces, so we can't screw into the cabinet. FYI - size is 5ft tall x 9ft long.
The only wallpaper I know of is Dreamscapes Bling. It is a little gawdy for the application (high end corporate office). I am considering matte silver metallic color change wrap film. We can print with white ink to block out certain parts since I don't want the entire image to have a metallic...
Since metallic ink is rather problematic unless you run a lot of it, I figure the number of machines out there are pretty small. I don't know of anyone that has a Roland or Epson with metallic inks.
We don’t use Omega any more, but years ago I saw this problem, so we established all the fonts on a network drive. It wasn’t intuitive to set up that way, but it saved a lot of hassle because everyone was accessing the same set of fonts.
This is the future, folks. I have tried teaching my junior high daughter, who is very artistic, Adobe software on the PC. It’s a real struggle. Get her on a iPad or cell phone and she’s a wiz.
That's hard to do, as we all get busy, but you will serve the customer well if you can stay on top of projects like that. There's something about POs, signed proofs, etc that can be difficult to get customers to follow through on.
Glass is a great substrate for that purpose. We typically stick with acrylic because we can do it in house, and it's easy to work with, but if course acrylic will scratch. That size is fine, I would recommend 1/4in or 3/8in thick. Get any holes you need pre drilled. Standoffs are a great...
I second reaching out to trade schools. The signmaking world is more blue collar work. 4 year grads are going to want more pay and less likely to get their hands dirty. I recently reached out to some high school programs just to try to educate teachers on the opportunities in this biz. Also...
Does anyone know of a good source for decorative custom printed acoustic panels? Wall mounted types for a conference room. Or is there any way to make in-house? We have Latex, solvent and flatbed UV printers.
I'm looking for some guidance from someone who has sold these type signs before. I purchase one about a month ago from a supplier (that will remain unnamed) that was 2ft x 5ft, and I was very disappointed in the result. It came with "edge" LED lighting - that is, LED lighting around the...
I would recommend putting it on the customer to get the dealer or a body shop to remove the coating so you can put graphics on. Otherwise you will own whatever damage you do to it.
