We put both layers of vinyl on the front. Clear first (unlaminated) applied. Then translucent white, with UV laminate registered on top.

Those two are ones I can recognize on sight from having done this so long.

If you're doing a digital print with the double layer method, put it on white translucent plastic. The choice of acrylic or polycarbonate depends on the size and your preference.

We use Sign Wizard and the CutServer from Onyx with ours. It will likely work with most any sign cutting software as long as there's a driver for it.

My experience with starting a brand new sign shop is that it takes more like 2 or 3 years to build a clientele that can really support you. Perhaps if you're in a bigger city where you could get accounts that spend more money you could do it faster, but then again they probably already have sign...
