Again, I've been in the printing industry since 1994. I used to witness and advise on "press checks" to make sure colors were absolutely what the client wanted...I understand that is a PITA. However, this is NOTHING close to that. I'm asking them to hit a forest green not "John Deere Green"...
I've been in the printing industry since 1994 - I've dealt with color and color matching all my career. I'm not asking them to "dead-nuts" match a pantone color in a book, I just need them to make a "forest green" not a "John Deere Green" and apparently they are unable to do so.
I don't want to burn any bridges at all - but I have a customer who ordered 6 flags and 2 tents - about a $4k order along with the banners we printed. My options are to take a "stab" at trying to adjust my file to "what my best guess" is to match their printer, or my customer is going to bounce...
This is EXACTLY who I am dealing with...have used them multiple times for other jobs, first time having a major issue and their response is to pound sand. I'm seriously thinking about calling my credit card company and starting a charge-back. It's absolutely ludicrous to have this type of...
Came in this morning, this was their reply...
Hello Sean,
Unfortunately, with our company's current staff and production process, there is simply no way for us to match the tent color to your flag.
The only realistic option we have with our current process is to reprint the item repeatedly...
Long story short, I used an outside vendor to produce some feather flags and a tent for a customer of ours. (No, I am not going to name them here.) We've used them before and all our prior work from them has been fine.
However, we received the flags and tent, and the colors on the flags don't...
Just got our Vanguard VKM-600 installed start of February and have been running it with no major issues so far. Speed and quality are fantastic, customer service at Vanguard has been very good with 2 calls we had to make. Ink is $145/liter and has very good adhesion and color. We opted for...
How old are the dampers?
Did you not replace dampers when you installed the new printhead?
Long story short, if the dampers are more than 1.5-2 years old I would change them.
We have a Summa F-1612 as well. It's a great all-round machine, with a much lower price point than a Zund or Esko. Big shops might argue it's not built to the same level as Zund or Esko, and I would agree, but it is still just as capable. But for about half the price, it does pretty much...
The question you must ask is "Do I need a router, or a digital cutting table?"
A true router is more industrial and will typically process heavier materials and metals with ease. While some do offer electronic eye for contour cuts, they aren't quite as refined as what you would find in a Zund...
Typically no, if you press the pause button on the printer you can resume, but any interruption in the data stream from the computer usually means you have to redo it.
I had a similar problem with Magenta dropping out randomly. One time would print all day and no issue. Next time it would print 3 feet and drop out. Doing a strong cleaning or "little charge" would help but wasn't a permanent fix. Turned out the damper was to blame. If the dampers are older...
We would be in the $2,000.00 - $2,400.00 range printed and installed for our area. I too think you are a little high - but maybe this customer won't mind? However, if they are already doing wraps as part of their marketing, then they probably already have a base point to go by as far as...
I believe Francis at Premier Colour (https://www.premiercolour.com/) can help you with that. They are also a merchant member here. If I recall, it's about $400 or so for him to do the unlock.
I agree with Jester, and to be honest my other thought is if a wrap installer is any good, he's not going to be "down on his luck" or looking for work. If anything, there is a shortage of good installers -- at least where I am at. If you can wrap a car, get it done right and not take forever...
