I just got the newest issue of Sign Craft and saw that Bob Stephens ( Sign Maniac) passed away. At only 63, he is too young to go... RIP, Bob, you will be missed.
Tint on flat windows isn't that hard. The one thing to remember is the wetter the better, and use a good quality slip solution. And they have to be super clean...

Well, when I started down that path, I found Francis Lansetti ( signsofgold.com ) and printed and read every article that he wrote for signs of the times mag... and was lucky enough to meet him at the Atlantic city sign show. I stood and watched and asked questions for several hours...

Welcome back Doug. Glad to see you back active... I'd have to agree with Chicago Graphics... finding a wholesaler would be a way to go, but I'm sure the shipping would be a deal breaker...
Perhaps, if you have the space, but some materials, a few different colors, and some application...
I just got a job needing solar LED lighting, and I searched everywhere... the caveat is that it couldn't be mounted on the ground...

I have a personal project that I am working on. I am looking for a piece of 3/4" thick polycarb, and thought someone here may have some off cut that I may be able to buy. I need a couple of pieces roughly 14" x 14" or larger.
If anyone has any they wouldn't mind selling, pm me and let me know...
Part of the reason that I'm interested in this is at one time he used to print on a Stahl transfer paper for tee shirts (the Inktra line). I have a couple, and they are great, I love the feel of them. I was interested in looking at adding this service to my customer offerings.
I have a friend that owns an Epson Stylus Pro 4900 printer, that has been sitting for a long while (think years). Right now, it is a catch all for miscellaneous papers that he sits on it. I asked him if he would consider selling it, and he said he would think about it, but doesn't have a...
What are you talking about. I have the computer in my shop that runs my plotter, and the computer that drives my cnc, and they both are xp machines. They are not on the internet, and run fine, and I have 0% chance of upgrading them.
I hate win 10...but when my laptop died, I couldn't find a laptop with win 8, which I like so much more...
And in turn, nothing works on 10. I had to upgrade Corel, and need to get signtools back, and my estimate program didn't work, and I had to get the newest version of quickbooks...

I don't remember a rheostat, but I do remember it was a sheet of sheet metal mounted on a frame. One of the transformer homeruns is mounted to the sheet, and the other is wired into an hand held plastic "pen" with a pointed metal end. The pattern was held on with magnets and you would use...
That appears to be a home made Sooper U Bracket. They are usually white powder coated steel, aluminium, or stainless steel.
You should be able to get them from any sign supply. I get mine through Harbor sales.
Here is a hypothetical / general pricing question...
Let's say you have a customer that wants a high ticket item, such as an awning, or set of channel letters. Those items are produced by a 3rd party (wholesale) and all you have to do is install.
Price to you is $8,000. Is say, a $12,000...
Yes. It's my favorite trade mag... I get several freebie mags, that end up as brush pallet, or in the trash. Signcraft gets places on a shelf in chronological order. I even went out and bought back issues, and need about 15 issues for a complete set.
I think the issue comes from new people in the industry that don't know "their worth", or know the best material that they need to use to make a good sign... and in my area, I can't throw a rock without hitting someone that has a plotter, "and can cut them stickers"... and its usually someone...
