  1. Suggestions Source for One Shot/Chromatic or Ronan Bulletin colors in Gallons

I buy a few colors of One shot by the gallon in a few instances. Usually, white and black, because I use so much... I usually get it from Harbor Sales, but a secondary source is Pioneer Sign Supply, and NGlantz.

  3. A couple recent routed HDU jobs we're really proud of

Very nice. On the Creston sign, are the white letters a separate letter attached, or routed from the same blank? Nice and crisp...
  4. Wagner changeable track installation

It's not laying it flat that's the problem. I'm more worried about the track walking up or down. When they were done originally, the track was laid in a trough and then laid on the face by 3 employees.
  5. Wagner changeable track installation

Hey, guys. I've got to replace a couple of Pan Formed faces that are 5' x 8'. There are (5) changeable tracks on the original faces, to give (4) lines of copy. The original track was bonded on with weld on, but I'm not really set up to weld that long of a track. Are the plastic rivets...

This ^. Customers need us to direct them to the best material that is available, and a good customer will listen to your suggestions, and when they get it, you earn a customer for life.... But there are customers out there that think they know best, and will argue against years of experience...

( I be live that is more of a kit machine, and I think $6500 Is a little expensive, but I may be wrong. Another avenue for getting some info is 3dsignforum.com and cnczone.com (I believe those are the correct url's).
  8. Discussion Decision: CNC Router or small digital printer?

Personally, I ran a digital printer for a prior company that I worked for. Now that I am out on my own and the opportunity came for me to buy a cnc, I jumped on it. Now I wish I had gotten a larger cnc. The one I got was 28" x 48"... I'd love to have a 4 x 8 machine....
  9. Discussion When to purchase a bucket truck.

Actually, no one can tell you when you should buy a new truck, or any piece of equipment, for that matter... BUT, there are formulas to help you decide... You need to know what your daily, weekly, or monthly cost of it is going to be. That is not only going to be the cost of the lease, but also...

  12. where to find jagged check mark?

Does anyone know if the jagged check mark, as seen in this image https://www.americanautogroupllc.com/Post/dealerimagefiles/custom/165120/btns/GCA%20Banner%20Blue%20Orange%20web.gif is available anywhere? I really don't want to have to redraw it, but I am not finding a source... Thanks in...
  13. Winplot Weed Lines

Winplot has a the option to cut a border around the copy, but not between letters. I just draw horizontal lines between copy, and add nodes to go around ascenders. Only takes a minute, and I leave it in the cut file, so if I ever have to recut, they are already in place.
  14. Recommend a designer?

I asked Philip at Amigo Sign (neato) to help me out with my logo, and he knocked it out of the park. I have sent him several projects, and have yet to be disappointed. Great guy, and one hell of a designer...

  16. Just sold a sign....Now how do I make it?

I, too, like Gino, was giving Phillip the benefit of doubt, as far as starting out fabricating signs. Although my first thought was I hope he did charge enough for the fabrication and execution of the sign...
  17. Handy little pricing book?

There ought to be some info on who put it out somewhere in it. I've seen half a dozen over the years, and that is a lot too vague to give an answer too...
  18. Just sold a sign....Now how do I make it?

Phillip, I would instead of using a 1.5" sheet, I would use (2) panels of 1". I would build a square tube steel frame, and put in the center. I would try to get 1/2" tube, and then rout a channel a little deeper than 1/4" deep in the back of each. Bond them together with West Systems 2 part...
  19. need help attaching jewelite to weird shaped sign!

It's not really a glue, per se... it is thin, but what it will do is melt the acrylic and the trim, and they will bond. More like welding....
  20. track saw in a sign shop?

I bought a panel saw off Craigslist for $600. Well worth it. I did replace the saw that was on it, and it works without a hitch.
