^^ive done that in a pinch! it's a last ditch effort but effective.
  2. tell us about your side/fun projects

I used to ride freestyle bmx for some 10+ years, 2 knee surgeries later I've shifted my attention to my ladies. My fiancé and my mistress. Pluckily for me my fiancé doesn't hate my passion for cars, and working on this car has brought my father and I closer together. He used to drag race when I...

  5. Tricky design for a pickup truck

Remove the stupid emblems, move the logo to the drivers door and sell him on a solid white stripe skirting the bottom of the truck if he's stuck on the blue text for the web.
  6. what do you think of this method to cut aluminum composite

I've been doing this since last year when our panel saw caught a bit of cutoff aluminum "string" or what ever you would want to call it and whipped it at my face... I caught it with my hand and cut myself really good... since then I won't use the panel saw, I cut and snap just like this and use...
  7. How many employees do you have / How long have you been in the business?

Where I work, we have 3 full time including the owner and 1 kid who works a few times a week... We need more people and I work a ton of OT. My boss has owned the business for 15+ years
  8. Before and After Van lettering

Huge improvement, only thing that bugs me is the stripe stops short instead of going to the break/ body gap of the rear door. :thumb:
  9. Polycarve not routing clean

Ours looked like that on our first few cuts, we figured out in the design software you could select blade rotation direction and we had to spin the blade the opposite way and the cuts came out a lot cleaner. id have to ask what software we use since I don't do it.

  12. Opening a storefront, internal signage, display items, etc

We actually don't have any samples in our lobby, we have a nice sign on the face of our front counter and a nice cnc sign on the wall leading in. I find all the samples clutter the lobby area. If people want to see samples we can show them samples, but I don't want them tripping over them when...
  13. Do you really need a phone # on your sign?

I've felt the same way for a long time, but sadly have always failed at convincing clients of this. Along with clients who insist I add the "www." (Or worse yet the http://), refuse to let me camel case websites on those hard to read or long websites, or want a # in front of a phone number... I...
  14. Hey Fellers and Montroy.

Wish you luck with N. Glantz. Our sales rep was let go and they didn't want to give us a new one. When's e finally did get a new rep he came to our shop and told us they were not interested in our business unless we start buying material by the pallet load, otherwise they really don't care to...
  15. not doing it for nothing

Little higher then what I'd charge but not by much. Just sell the quality of your work and the cost of fuel... Still cheaper to come to you.
  16. Sewing Banners?

We use a machine intended to sew sails, it's a single needle but it does the job with webbing installed.
  17. Sign Apps?

Wish you luck with N. glantz, their sales reps have really dropped the ball in the last year. We use them as little as possible :/
  18. Not exactly about installations, but rather......................................

For on site installs I always tell customer an expected install date and say (weather permitting) I had a guy mad at us because I wouldn't install a banner on a 2 2 story building when we had an ice storm the night before. I told my boss respectfully no, I would not do it. The customer was mad...
