Wind slits are worthless. I know customers sometimes require them, but this is because of misunderstanding. Consider. A 3' x 20' banner is 60 sq feet. Even if you put 40 6" wind slits in it (two rows, one slit every foot), this will only reduce the wind load by 10% or so. Figure around 6 square...

No prints (except banners, paper, etc) leave our shop without laminate. Make sure you use an OPTICALLY CLEAR laminate for perf prints.

My standard response to that is "It's supposed to look that way..."

I agree with the contrast and readability critiques. Here's a design I did a couple years ago to show the direction I would go for readability.
