In response to "material hold down" comments, I personally really like a pressure foot and the use of bridges and don't like vacuum or tape hold down methods. Vacuum method too noisy and expensive and tape hold down just seems cumbersome and wasteful but I've never tried it.
My 2 cents....with dust collectors make sure and keep the vacuum hose large and don't reduce it at any point, keep the hose distance short, and find a collection bag/cylinder that doesn't get clogged and offers little resistance. The best option for performance is blowing it directly outside...
I think you would get better illumination if you added a baffle in the middle and make it 6 inches deep. The baffle could be made out of Lexan and would provide a safer surface to mount your LEDs illuminating both directions. Let us know if your method works. It might just be small enough...
I've looked into this as well. You could order a set from Sign Fab called "Wowee" channel letters and see if you like or can sale the product first. I really only see disadvantages in using it but the future may hold a different story. I believe if you were okay with the layered or...
I guess it depends a little bit on your budget. A used Shopbot is a great starter router because they are inexpensive and they have lots of available forums and technical support as well as you can replace a control card for $100 instead of $1000 to get them fixed. If you want a higher end...
Sorry to reply to an older thread but I believe Souldar is 100% correct, polycarbonate is subject to crazing caused by several types of solvents and this can be seen also in the substrate guide for matthew's paint. I have sometimes accidentally used acetone to clean a polycarbonate backer for a...
I'm looking for a faster method of finishing the edge of a reverse channel letter between the return and face. I don't want to see a seam in finished product. I've tried about 20 different kinds of gap fillers and have about 15 types of sanding devices but can't seem to find a method that is...
This is a little bit of an old post but just to add my 2 cents: Ecut has plugins for AI and Corel Draw and costs $70. Ecut can can calculate perimeter which is really handy. It also does area. Ecut also will export to DXF so you can design files that will export into channel letter...
If anybody wants information about the SDS Automation benders, I used to be a tech for the company from 2013-2017 and then started my own company specializing in trimless channel letters since noticing that even after training most large companies were not able to produce trimless channel...
Not sure if anyone can help but our website photos are not being indexed by google. Our website adddress is www.jigsign.com
If anybody has a referral of someone that would also be appreciated. I can't help but feel like a lot of sign companies might do image searches when looking for a...
After making a beautiful set of channel letters I always dread applying the holographic eye sore UL labels. I wish they could be applied out of sight. I usually let client decide location. Bottom Right is a frequent request. For a rectangular "I" does that mean right side of bottom or...
I'm curious of Kalisigns as well. It seems that they specialize in acrylic block style letters similar to Gemini or Bitro group. I believe most of their fabrication is done in China.
My company sales trimless edge channel letters as well as reverse channel letters to other sign companies. We...
We do the fabrication of trimless style channel letters for other sign companies to install. I'm looking for suggestions on how to handle jobs that want rgb LEDS. Is it best to ship with controller and signal amplifier or is it better to just ship with power supplies and rgb leds and let...
