On close inspection there are differences between copperplates. Even the same name from different font companies. Adobe's copperplate is different than copperplate from other font companies Serifs are inconsitent. O's and C's are more oval in one versus the other

Can you explain further?? A good letter O can be done with 8 anchors, 4 for the inside and 4 for the outside circle/oval. I always trace letters and shapes with as few anchors as possible for smooth curves

Yeah I have played around with it and looked at videos of the results... there is nothing magical about this process. It basically makes your phone a scanner but in reality it is no better than the built in auto tracing software of Illustrator. You may as well just take a photo with your camera...

Don't know the font, but if you only need that letter it would take less time to trace then hunt for it

Did you create the file or was it emailed to you? If you created it, I have no solution. If emailed to you, have the customer resend you the file and maybe they could zip it before sending. Occasionally when I send or receive ai files natively they can get corrupt in the email process
