I'm still trying to figure that out. We could probably safely archive 90% of our working files so I still need to work out that number.
I have around 600 GB with all our company files but I'd guess we can probably cut that in half for files that we regularly need to access.
This is good to know. I got a rough budget price of $95k CDN installed/trained so it's good to know what else to factor in.
I don't know if I'd opt for the service contract to be honest. I don't know if we got lucky or what but in 8 years we've probably spent under 5k in parts for our...
Glad to hear you're happy with your new setup!
We should be getting a proposal soon for our potential new set up and I think they're planning on going with a Synology NAS set up as well. Those backup options sound good too, they were talking $150-200 a month for managed cloud backups but...
Good to know, thanks. 2 days of drying + paint + cure time is my issue....hard to work that into a production schedule.
I might just try to our install bay and see how that goes, we could afford not to use that space for a week if we needed to.
I get what you're saying, but also get why they would lock out user access.
A) It's another revenue stream for them to sell service contracts and charge for repairs
B) They don't want Joe Blow pulling apart a complicated piece of equipment and breaking stuff, only to have to send a tech out...
Probably not what you want to hear, but it looks like it's failing due to install.
Starting behind the vinyl then dries up and cracks....like all channel failures.
I don't have any experience with latex and its quirks with laminates but that's what it looks like to me. (And trust me I've...
How brutal is the acid etching process? I've always wanted to do our shop floors properly but haven't found a solution that I can afford to pay for (money and downtime).
Finally got this install done yesterday.
Punched a hole through with an awl then threaded i-hook bolts through. I had cut some 3mm pvc panels to stick on top of the ceiling tiles but both signs spanned across the framing so it wouldn't have really worked.
I used a big washer and a nut on top...
It's a great printer for decals, signs etc. I personally don't use it for vehicle graphics (we use our Roland eco-solvent for that) but that's just preference for me. Theoretically the ink should last almost as long as solvent ink outside if it's laminated, but I've yet to test that out...
I wouldn't count on it. I guess if you raised the heads it might be physically possible but I can't see tracking being great.
We were hoping we could print onto .010 lexan rolls with it and it didn't work well. Has no problem actually printing on just about any material, but if you run into...
I agree. We haven't used the cutter on our UCJV since we first got it 2+ years ago. We'll print only on UCJV then send to cut on either roll or flatbed Summa through Onyx.
I've left reviews on this printer before, but here is what comes to mind:
Pros:
Print speed is ok
White ink is nice...
Thank you Solventinkjet and InkHead!!
Raised the wiper, got it making contact with the heads again and got the nozzle check back to 100% for the first time in months.
No more cross-contamination or banding - printed 25' or so absolutely perfect.
I still need to bring the positive pressure...
In corel go to find and replace.
Replace objects / color / (make sure outlines is checked) / find -----> will enable eye dropper
Click any object with CutContour stroke (or swatch)
Click "find all"
It should select all objects that match that search criteria. (You may get a grouping warning...
Might be worth talking to these guys............ https://www.signshopconsulting.com/ I've been thinking about it.
I heard about it on their podcast "Better Sign Shop Podcast".
(This is not a sponsored post, I swear)
I hired an Emyth coach a couple years ago. I had always dreamed of working with one since I read the book.
I didn't get as much out of it as I would have hoped, but I'm definitely partially at fault for that. I didn't like having to follow their specific format and focusing our efforts on...
