  1. Composer 4.0 + USB to serial/parallel cables + Windows 10 = possible?

Thanks, we are using the Gerber USB to parallel cable already. So this should technically still work? Do you remember if you had to mess with a lot of driver settings?
  2. Composer 4.0 + USB to serial/parallel cables + Windows 10 = possible?

I recently had the bright idea to upgrade our old computer that basically only drives our Edge 2, HS15+ and Summa D120 machines. Old machine was Win7 and we were running all usb cables for everything and it worked. Tried to install the plotters and edge2 this morning on new (Windows 10)...
  3. Shop humidifier

Great video Gene! Static/Humidity is also an ongoing battle in our shop....it's currently -30 celcius outside so you can imagine how dry it gets in here. We've got an inline humidifier hooked up to our HVAC in the production area and it works ok, but it runs almost non stop to try to keep...
  4. Canon Colorado 1650 FEEDBACK

Those wraps look great. Curious what you mean by doing things differently to prevent failures? Do you cut and drop the recesses? I've always struggled with how do address things like that on commercial vehicles - that's all we do and we know our clients want their graphics to look good but...

    Welcome from Canada.
  6. Looking for Plans for work tables

I know you said without seams..............but we use sheets of 1/4" puckboard on our benchtops. Think it's also available in 1/8" thick but we found 1/4" works best. Can get about a year of cutting/abuse then flip it over. We've got 5' x 8' benches and have a butt seam and it works fine...

    Welcome from Winnipeg, eh!

  9. Plotter woes

Yep, no way a pinch-roller driven plotter is going to hit registration that tight. As a rule thumb, we never apply a bleed any smaller than 0.1" (Mostly because that was always our Gerber/composer default bleed) If you're running 4" letters at that length I'd say you could easily have a 1/4"...
  10. Gerber scientific stop manufacturing machines..real or not?

Unless I'm missing something, where are you getting that they won't be producing foils anymore? The release you copied and pasted specifically says they will stop making equipment and specifically says they will continue to produce Edge-ready materials.
  11. Need Help Advertising Online

Backlinking eh.................? Location: Chicago Location: New York Country: USA Experience Level:No experience How long have you lived in Chicago, New York? F**k off spambot
  12. Accidentally wrapped truck in 3M 40C, would that hold?

That's unfortunate, probably not something that you want to discover after the job is done. How well do you know the customer? If I was in your shoes I'd probably explain what happened and see if they're okay with leaving at is for the time being, with the understanding that if/when it fails...
  13. alternative for 3M IJ180CV3 & 8518

Funny timing, we're actually just contacting our dealer for a credit on a bunch of defective rolls of 8518. Now I have some firepower if 3M pretends they haven't heard of this issue before. (Sorry, I know that doesn't help your issue!)
  14. 3M Digital Vinyl Cores and Labels

Yeah they're definitely using thinner cores, but as long as you don't beat them up I prefer them compared to some of the thicker/heavier cores.
  15. What to use for dowels on hanging banners?

Yeah good point. What kind of spring clips are you referring to?
  16. What to use for dowels on hanging banners?

Yeah they're nice and fancy but too much monies. I like they way they thread together though, that's kinda neat. The 4x12 and all the smaller ones will be hung from the ceiling. They'll probably use some kinda cable or similar I would imagine. This is what I was thinking...
  17. What to use for dowels on hanging banners?

What diameter are you guys using for the pvc pipe?
  18. What to use for dowels on hanging banners?

Ooooh those are nice. Thanks! I will see if we can order some and get them here in time.
  19. What to use for dowels on hanging banners?

What are you guys using for dowels on hanging banners? (Hoping to hear from anyone that does these on a regular basis) We're about to start a project that will have a bunch of smaller banners (2' wide x 5' high) and a slightly larger banner (12' wide x 4' high). They'll all be hung above high...
  20. What's a good cleaner for Coroplast (aside from alcohol) to remove fingerprints/oils?

It's Corona treated. (Not to be confused with the virus ) It does have an expiration date but I'd rather printed on "expired" coroplast than print on new crap that's been handled 10 times by people that we're just eating chicken wings for lunch. We don't print a ton of coroplast but...
