We are considering a Beta placement of the machine in our shop.
Good concept but nowhere near as fast and robust as Some real production machines.
Also a real funky width 104" not to practical as far as a machine web.
Attached is some info regarding the machine.
I would agree with the Vutek UV part. I just came back from a visit of the Vutek plant today and was blown away by what they got going on.
UV curable technology yes. Flatbed technology No. We own 2 Gandi Flatbeds and our loyal HP/Scitex Clients that have just purchased a Vutex UV roll to roll...
Are you sure the motor went. If it just spins and no locking to take up chance are the allen coupling(tension screw) has come loose. If you open up the case and spin the take up you will totally see what I am talking about.
This has happened to us several times.
Vuteks are no more expensive than any other machines in the same caliber.
HP/Scitex FB6100 $300K
Gandi 3150 $300K
Vutek QS $300K
Just a matter of opinion.
I actually think that the wrap market has already peaked and like any other product it will be consolidated to the strongest players..
Plenty of the pie out there but not for everyone. Especially this late in the game (or infancy as you refer).
Again this is an opinion from a print provider...
I hardly consider wraps are in its infancy. We have been doing them for 14 years now.
If anything it a over saturated industry with every shop that has a capable printer calling themselves experts.
It also by no means is a niche market but a robust profitable industry that accounts for more...
Mimaki service sucks....Everywhere. Warranty will be through whoever sold you the machine.
Mimaki direct sends you to a distributor. Find some place to get the board from and put it in yourself.
We have several JV3s that only get serviced by my operators. Only way to keep them up correctly...
Here are some photos that might help. We have two of these stations with 2 machines on 20 foot tables. You need the tables to help you stitch especially big stuff.
