Have a pretty good selection, prices are very fair, relied on them for years until we got our CNC cutter.
I've been a long time Mutoh user, though never a prismjet, but as others have said they are basically the same thing. I briefly owned a 1304 for a little more than a year and I will tell you its a good machine, but IMHO the biggest downfall is the fixed takeup system. Prior to having the 1304...
As others have said, square foot pricing is the only way to go and rate will vary based on complexity of the wrap, material, layers, window perf, etc...
We outsource when it makes sense. Whether we don't have enough capacity at the moment, or perhaps a particular job is outside our capabilities. You make less profit than doing it in-house, but the way I see it that we are doing work that we would have had to pass on so it's better to get...
Obviously not in the NE, but I will say the actual dollar amount paid also has to take into consideration MANY factors on both sides of the fence;
FOR THE EMPLOYEE:
1. Can he/she work unsupervised and get stuff done (make money) or do you constantly have to prod and babysit them?
2. Are they...
So... you "could" buy a roll of 24" or 30" banner ($50-$60)...THEN cut it down into 60 individual pieces....THEN run 20 + feet of 24" black vinyl ($15) through your plotter....THEN weed it all....THEN mask it all ($5)....THEN cut each name down.....THEN apply 60 individual names on those 60...
I can say with almost certainty that 350 degrees is too hot for any vinyl I know of. We've been dealing with an issue where dump truck graphics wrapped on smooth side beds were burned/scorched due to hauling excessively hot loads of asphalt. We were using 3M IJ-180 and after 3-6 months the...
We ran a USTech AK-600 for 4-5 years without heat assist. The ONLY time it would have made a difference is during the cold winter months as my shop is block wall and concete and hard to keep heated in the warehouse area. The heat assist on our new GFP 563TH works great on calendared laminates...
FYI - in regards to head soaks, it's best to never let them go beyond 20-30 minutes in my experience. The "wicking" created will initially cause cross-contamination in the printhead itself, and then if left long enough, will continually siphon ink out of the tanks and down the drain. Hard...
We have both a roll laminator and a flatbed laminator and it works out really well to keep small rolls. We web up the GFP laminator when we have long runs to do and then do odds and ends, specialty laminates on the CWT flatbed - works out wonderfully for us.
Curious to see if anyone had feedback on Grimco's new Briteline Wrapcast film? They state it's a 2 mil film with "glide and stick" properties similar to other films. Not really sure I would want to use it on critical projects, but for an economy option for box trucks, trailers and flat panel...
Been a fairly happy Wasatch user for almost 9 years. Rock solid, handles up to 4 units on the regular license with the option to add more down the road. Prints and colors are great, I think far better than Flexi files I've had run by comparison, but to each his own...
First, I believe pay is always designated by experience, workmanship and attitude - not necessarily just the position or assigned tasks that person does.
For our area, a "decent" vinyl installer with 2-3 years experience will fetch $12 - $18/hr on the low end, maybe $20-$25/hr + if they are...
