You can use the pick tool to select, then use pick tool to draw a box around combined nodes to highlight them. Right click on one of the highlighted arrow nodes and click on reverse sub path. This works for me without doing one node at a time. Not sure about the 2020 version but worth a try.

Krylon makes a spray epoxy paint. Might be a better idea. If you are using printed vinyl they have a spray crystal clear you can test over a sample first.
Just my two cents - I believe there are some people that just love lettering. Calligraphers come to mind. Changing up a style of two letters gives it more of a hand lettered look where exact replicas may not be the desired effect. Examples that come to mind are greeting cards and scrapbooks.
Closest I could find for 131 is TipemiteOblique (Regular Italic). Again would need some adjustments thou.
