  1. Question L25500 problems - any ideas will be appreciated!

Time, and a few prayers, and a rest coaxed it back to life, to get one more print, and it's still showing the 1.2:10 ISS error, and also still constantly telling me there's no media correctly loaded, when there is a whole roll on, and it's snug against the spool edges..
  2. Question L25500 problems - any ideas will be appreciated!

Thanks - getting a spare is on the agenda... but have you encountered the freezing on the count of 24 boot-up, or why it turns on when I switch it on at the back, without needing to go to the front console button? Thanks for the reply. :)
  3. Question L25500 problems - any ideas will be appreciated!

For 3 months it's given us the 1.2:10 error message, which it says is a faulty Ink Supply System circuit board. However, if you ignored the message, it still always printed OK. Yesterday, it decided partway into a job that the substrate was loaded incorrectly, although there was 5 metres left...
  4. Onyx Production House 12.05 Unable to RIP PDFs

(except in our case, using Jaws fixed the problem!)
  5. Onyx Production House 12.05 Unable to RIP PDFs

I had a similar problem, which was solved, by editing printer quicksets> advanced> and then going in to set the post script RIP engine to be JAWS, not adobe. Save, and reboot the system. Possibly it might help you
  6. New HP L 25500 colour peculiarity question

Thanks - I checked intents- and both types were set for the same - perceptual. I've not had time to study the Onyx manual, and have to get on with some other commitments at the moment, but I've also just emailed the file to you, in case anything weird jumps out as blindingly obvious to you...
  7. New HP L 25500 colour peculiarity question

Thanks - I'm understanding what you're saying now! I've been trying to upload a pic of what I mean - but having problems- I keep getting error messages- so I''ll try a different way, and link a pic.| You can see most colours are similar between the top row (vector to PDF) and the 2nd row...
  8. New HP L 25500 colour peculiarity question

Thank you again, 2CT - I did read it - but I could not find where to do the eyedropper test etc. (I'm a brushie signwriter since the 1980s, and know the ins and outs of plotters and cnc systems, but am very new to RIPs and owning a digital printer, that's all) Thanks for your link above - I'm...
  9. New HP L 25500 colour peculiarity question

Rich, and 2CT, - thanks - but the raster or JPG is converting very accurately - it's the vector that is not! That's got me stumped, as I'd have expected the vectors to be 'purer' or truer. I would not be expecting to have to take all Corel files, save as a jpg, then RIP from that, when I can...
  10. New HP L 25500 colour peculiarity question

Thanks - but they're both in the one file - as I said I imported the JPG back into Corel Draw, then saved the whole lot as a PDF. I originally did it with lots of boxes of known and frequently used colours - but the cyan/process blue is the only come to come out woefully different from the...
  11. New HP L 25500 colour peculiarity question

After umpteen head cleanings, I'm happy with the shades of red/orange/yellow that the L25500 is printing. Ditto with the blues. Here is the odd thing: I make a box in Corel - X3 or X5 - no difference, in CMKY. Fill it with Corel process blue straight off the color menu - which equals cyan...
  12. L25500 prints too dark - any ideas,please?

Update: after 10 head cleanings of the k-Y heads, it's printing an 80% cleaner yellow in the top line, and reds, oranges, yellows & greens are much closer to PMS expectations than the muddy misses they'd been looking like before. Turning All ICC profiles on, was better than all profiles off...
  13. L25500 prints too dark - any ideas,please?

Looking at that, There's a pink block to the right of the 123456 numbered test tube shapes, and I thought that pink block should be yellow. (1st & 2nd pictures) (or is it meant to be pink/magenta with an orange left edge ?) Looking at the Nozzle Check blocks,(3rd & 4th pictures) the upper...
  14. L25500 prints too dark - any ideas,please?

I'll upload some print photos soon. No - in the print head cleaning, & test, the upper block is murky, and the lower one is clean. Thanks for the helpful replies, guys!
  15. For the Guitar Pickers

Dream on, Ian... ;) (My wife thinks the 4 or 5 I have are 3 or 4 too many already... ;) )
  16. L25500 prints too dark - any ideas,please?

Thanks - I simply downloaded a bunch of Onyx profiles for assorted media I had - or the next closest I could find. Eg Avery matt sav MPI 3021 or whatever it was, and others for banner material - Oracal permanent gloss polymeric. All print too dark for my liking and won't print a pure clean...
  17. L25500 Form Feed And Cut

Yes, the various media profiles allow an option for auto-cut-off, or disable the cutter.
  18. L25500 prints too dark - any ideas,please?

Despite a head cleaning, and head realignment, if I create a box of CMYK 0,0,100,0 (ie 100% yellow) and save it as a PDF from Corel Draw, then open it into Onyx Production House RIP, the yellow box prints with a dirty darker hue - not 100% yellow alone, but it seems to have murky black spots...
  19. L25500 - problems switching it on

For what it's worth, I established it was a power supply failure. $250 for a new one, and 2 hours to remove the old one, about the same to put the new one in, and it's working again!
