  6. HP L25500 says "Substrate has not been fully removed" but there's nothing in it.

Reseating that spring can be an ordeal till you fluke it, if you've not seen how it is supposed to look... The spring works in both directions, you see... Technically, it's a Hall-effect sensor, that senses a magnetic field in the coil, as the plastic arm moves the other end through the gap.
  7. HP 360 cheapest rip

Didn't the 360 come with software?
  8. Suggestions Suitable Media for HP L25500

I've found some cheap media blisters at the backing paper, due to the extra curing heat in the 25500. Go with something that works, and stay with it- don't be too cheap! Printing on flag polyester was lovely. Alternately, ASK your supliers if their media is OK for latex, that way if it is not...

  10. Windows 10 and open type fonts

The 64 bit system would not let the Virtual XP Machine talk to the Com1 serial port nor the LPT We lost over a day trying every workaround we could find. It was not happy with the 32 bit drivers either.
  11. Windows 10 and open type fonts

I found a 64 bit system would not run older Roland Camm-1 plotters, not in compatibility mode, and not as a Virtual machne either. The answer was to buy an older WinXP 32 bit system, and another as a spare, while they're cheap!
  12. printer/cutter what should i choose

As above... Profits start to occur after 1000s of hours of use- not counting the learning curve... We outsourced our printing for 18 years, before getting our own printer- and despite having a printer, we still outsource some printing...
  13. Question CNC software

Enroute will do that also - but don't forget, it's not the software really that does it, it's the mind and creativity of the sign maker, added to years of experience knowing how to assemble parts for best effect, and knowing how to drive the router and which cutters to achieve this. There is...
  14. Substrate Jam Clean Carriage Reflector HP L25500 Question

Flexi I've not used with the HP L25500- I tried Onyx and liked it. (I wouldn't mind trying Flexi again, with the 25500 rip) I've had head strike (actually it's carriage strike, not head strike, but we tend to call it head strike) with many substrates... but photo canvas has been the worst, with...
  15. Discussion Decision: CNC Router or small digital printer?

You think $6500 is too much... I think you'll have problems fulfilling your ambitions then. However, I'd look into second hand routers, and second hand latex printers, if you really want to. We spent over $25k on a really old big secondhand router 10 years ago, before all these cheap chinese...

  18. Need Help Vertical Banding on Canvas Prints - HP Latex L26500

I can't help, sorry, except to say I've put canvas through our L25500. Onxy rip. The big problem I had was carriage strike at both edges of the roll - it was really appalling - but the actual prints themselves were lovely. Did you do a head clean & alignment before you ran the file?
  19. Need help in making sign artwork work for business card and printable collateral.

Bob said it all...^^^ but as for a truck layout- leave off the wheeks & exhaust pipe... (no need for them on a card!) ;)
  20. I am buying a large format printer this week, only question is which one?

Latex might be twice the ink & electricity cost per sq ft compared with eco-solvent as per the above figures, BUT... HP's are designed for the heads to wear out and be user-replaced at a small cost. The ink cartridges are not expensive really. The head cleaning cartridge is a user-swap-out...
