Hi all,
What printable vinyl would you use for snowboard wraps?
A client of ours used Avery MPI 2000 for their snowboard, while it had good adhesion they mentioned that the vinyl lost adhesion in the snow and started to peal.
So i'm wondering what would be a good vinyl for this job?
After I posted it. I thought about how it wouldn’t work as a media profile and an ICC profile are different.
I do like the concept of the website.
It can get you out of trouble.
You have a new stock, but the generic profile you use sucks. So you need to get one to work till you profile it...
It seems most profiles are for Onyx & Caldera.
Theres:
14 printer brands
23 RIP options
~250 brands of media
for 1,000,000 profiles. that's basically 1 profile per printer for 1 stock per brand on every rip.
I think the idea is cool.
im not sure how this will work, but they have an ICC...
Always,
But we practically solved this issue with our ecommerce. Customers need to upload files, then crop with in our specs. if it doesn't fit in in the crop box, they can visually see it's not going to work.
Anyway, You need to look away from the new tech & features of new machines.. they're all like that one way or another.
Anyway...is what i would suggest when looking at new machines.
Forums are great for opinions etc but the best thing you can do is go and book a demo.
Bring your own stock...
I dont think it's about "people with no knowledge"
Its more about automation.
Do you want to stuff around lining up your stock so it doesn't track? or let the machine do it, and you're off setting up artwork for the next job?
Our Colorado does a few checks before printing.
While it's...
We’ll there’s 2 types of flatbed with R2R modules.
One has the stock going over the bed.
The other doesn’t / has a seperate module on the front or rear. (Canon / oce)
Pros and cons?
Pro:
You have a spare R2R printer.
Con:
You don’t have the extra R2R capabilities
Canons flatbed with r2r...
Now you're making some sense,
What i mean by numbers:
Price: max $250k
Head height: Min 100mm / 4" ?
bed size: 1.2 x 2.4 / 4x8 (standard size) or similar
This is what helps people help you in finding the right product.
as mentioned you'll have issues with the head height.
Most are about...
Instead of that, my next suggestion is to roll out some paper and print on that. dont print on the edge of the paper, but leave a gap. see what happens.
Jim,
You need to be more specific with your requirements.
I'll break it down for you.
What is your budget?
What print speed are you looking for? / How many boards per hour?
What other requirements do you need? as you mentioned bead size and height, What are the numbers?
There are so many...
Dont fall for the marketing crap from EFI
"oversize bed" is smaller than other larger beds.
it's 3m x 2m, you cannot do much more on that vs the others.
For reference, most normal flatbeds are 1.2 x 2.4 meters. 90% of stock is that size.
IMO the most efficient large bed is the ones from...
