  1. The Great Canning Jar Shortage?

When I was in high school the running joke was "What did you have for breakfast?" Reply was always Resin Bran.
  2. reflective tape

Could check into Nikkalite reflective. Haven't used it in a long while but never had a call back.
  3. The Great Canning Jar Shortage?

Haven't canned anything in a while either. Been vacuum sealing meat and veg to put in the chest freezer. Waiting to splurge on a chamber style vac sealer.
  4. 10 years down...

Way cool! :rock-n-roll: Here's to 10 more years.
  5. Looking for my first laser cutter/engraver

If Trotec was next door I'd run with them. Although at 1/10th the price you could buy two offshore lasers(keep one for parts) and still be money ahead.
  6. What To Have In A New Work Space?

If I was doing a dedicated build today: Floor drain. Hot and cold running water and slop sink.(customers can't be counted on to bring a clean vehicle) Air hose drops. Climate controlled. Air scrubber for dust. Additional lights on the walls. Prep tables large enough to pre-trim, adjust...
  7. Looking for my first laser cutter/engraver

I also want to get a laser for the shop and the offshore units have an attractive price point. Here is all I know. Local tech college runs Epilog lasers. Two to three classes a day five days a week. If a rig can stand up in a school environment that's a pretty good endorsement.
  8. The Great Canning Jar Shortage?

Thank you for the information. I imagine there are a lot of grandmas hacked off they can't put up jams, pickles and vegetables because of the weed operations. Amusing to say the least, can't make this stuff up...
  9. The Great Canning Jar Shortage?

Learn sumthin' here every day. Although it makes me wonder why they would use canning jars instead of vacuum bagging their "herbs".
  10. Ute, Van or Trailer?

When I was starting out I had a Nissan mini pickup. For large panels I made a rack out of scrap lumber and bolted that to the bed rails. When done it was removed and stored against a wall. That being said I'm a truck guy and wouldn't hesitate to buy one for the shop.(current ride is an F350...
  11. Need new flatbed - Advice please (NOT HP...)

IIRC they were roughly 6 grand to have a tech replace them. Although I'm not sure if that's a discounted rate for the school.
  12. Need Help Head and colour problems. Please help!!

Waves, odd colors tend to indicate an electrical issue. May have a ribbon cable going out or maybe just needs to be reseated. If there are a lot of "miles" on it I would look at the ribbon cables. Assuming the heads were never replaced you can go into the service menu and check the "shot"...
  13. ANYONE HAVE A GENERIC WAIVER FOR SLIPPAGE ON FLOOR PRINTS?

Don't do it and avoid the ensuing legal battle. I've worked too hard to risk everything on a client trying to tell me how to do my job.
  14. Roland SP540v ripping but not printing

When I had my SP540V the I/O card in the computer got wonky. Did all kinds of weird things until it quit. I/O cards are cheap. Chuck a new one in and see what happens. Worse case you'll have a spare.
  15. Choice of Perforated Material on Windows

Can run PanoFilm on the inside.
  16. Valuejet 1624x - fuzzy/blurry print

Check your head height. If it is in the raised position small text 4 to 6pt and very thin lines will print "fuzzy". Not that I would know anything about that..
  17. Alternative to dry erase board

Foam PVC with Crayola waterbase markers works a treat. I use this combo to make reusable name boards for limo companies.
  18. Sign Making Capabilities

You're missing the part about them not being able to find equipment for a sign shop. SMH
  19. Printable Vinyl

Ya know I just thought of something my wife does with vinyl. She cuts scraps to use as a stencil then acid etches glassware. Over the years she's made really nice pieces for wedding and birthday gifts.
  20. FastSigns and Signs365 and Gemini

I've noticed a trend here. It's always price, price, price. Never about problem solving for a client. That goes a long way in retainment. What about supplying products or services online places can't? For example: One of my clients has an HVAC shop. I do the regular sign stuff, but the guy...
