Hmmmm... yes SMK 3 is about due. I kinda thought about that, but since I don't see this in any other colors but this teal in this job, I was focused on ink and printheads.
That's what I thought, but I'm running a 1" color bar. Changed one printhead that was very high usage, but still looked great in status plot. Didn't change the issue.
All of these are good....kerning, too much/little negative space. Color combos are on of the big ones I see. Red on black, red on blue, red with blue outlines....ugh. I have to talk so many people out of those.
Overuse of trendy fonts is big too....the swirly crap, or that Cowboy font, whatever...
Yes rails are clean and lubricated. Machine is well maintained. That's why this is so odd to see happen suddenly on this machine.
I'm not sure what the pinch rollers have to do with that though.
Having issues suddenly with some bands in my solid colors. First time this has happened.
I have cleaned the encoder strip, and I just ran a printhead test plot. All looks good, no dropouts in the nozzles. Any other ideas what is happening? They aren't uniform....intermittent all through this...
Our county has placed mandatory mask requirements for all businesses. We're not posting any signs, hoping most people will follow county orders. Most people that have been coming in wear them anyway.
GSG has stepped up and lowered pricing on most all the stuff we order. Anything I have questioned or asked to lower, they have. Using Grimco less and less except for a couple items.
Never gonna get a good grey with C0/M0/Y0/KX. And when you do that, the other heads will drop out from not pushing ink. If you insist on using black only, run a color bar to keep your other colors from drying up.
Used to use the Briteline 3203X but it sucks on vehicles, which I discovered after having to remove some graphics just a month after. That glue is hard to get off, and I think they actually state not recommended for vehicles now.
I've used many of these recommendations, still do on occasion. But lately have been using Avery 2903 almost exclusively for all intermediate. And it's good for short term vehicle graphics (<5 years). And Cheaper than most others.
Yep....just like what happened when the small affordable vinyl cutters (a la Cricut) came out. Everyone and their sister were making "custom" decals and totally devalued the work we all do. Not worth the effort unless you have a brilliant business plan for selling that kind of stuff.
I do this and occasionally have issues with lining up. It seems to happen most on jobs that are 4 or 5 panels, where just one out of the batch is off. And the length of the panel is different, almost like the art was stretched during printing.
Is anyone else with this same bucket of bolts having issues with skew correction? It is getting bad. I bet I spend 45 minutes to an hour every day in total with this thing, adjusting and readjusting the vinyl so it isn't skewed. Isn't one of the wonderful features of this f*&%%ing thing that it...
Yeah ours has become cantankerous lately. I have had numerous instances of it running off track with roll vinyl. Using all rollers, even on just 30" rolls. And also my ongoing issue of the stupid thing feeding out WAAY more vinyl than needed for a job. If you have 4 feet of vinyl left on a roll...
