  1. One clogged head? Roland sp540v

Remember when it was suggested you use OEM caps? The inner white part of the aftermarket caps probably swelled up and touched the bottom of the heads and wicked out your ink.
  2. One clogged head? Roland sp540v

    Bad magenta channel...
  3. One clogged head? Roland sp540v

Picture of the edge of the fill test is out of focus. Can you post a crisp picture please?
  4. One clogged head? Roland sp540v

Bad head. Fill test is the definitive test for printheads on the Rolands. It is the same as printing in Standard mode of most Roland profiles - 720x720, 8 pass, standard speed, bi-directional, 100% ink output. This is where you are able to see each channel's behavior under normal printing...
  5. Print & Cut off

Try doing the following in the below order (all these are in the service mode): Initialize the Limit Aging - Feed, Scan and Cutting Linear Encoder Linear Calibration Crop-Cut Alignment Print-Cut Alignment Then in the user menu, go to the cutting menu. There is an option for Auto Env Match...
  6. Need help with Roland!!

Glad you're up and running. I'm always disappointed when I hear about techs not being knowledgeable and/or not doing thorough troubleshooting and the customer suffers because of it. Especially when a simple calibration procedure might expose the problem.
  7. Need help with Roland!!

Did they do this when they were there? It would appear that the cutter solenoid has not been tested through the calibration process. The pressure is calibrated at both the low end and the high end force settings. In my case, the high end was ok, but on the low end, the cutter wasn't consistently...
  8. Need Help Mimaki CJV 150-75 Misfiring issues , Cyan mark most visible on Pinch roll lane

You can do the nozzle wash for up to 99 minutes automatically. If you want to do overnight, set the time to 2 minutes, and when the actual soak starts, power off the Main switch.
  9. Need Help Mimaki CJV 150-75 Misfiring issues , Cyan mark most visible on Pinch roll lane

That sounds very strange. Both cyan dampers should be replaced as the next step. Also, whatever part that was "tightened with a tape" needs to be replaced and any part of the ink line that has been stretched needs to be trimmed off. If you continue to see the same issues after doing those...
  10. One clogged head? Roland sp540v

Did you replace the caps with Roland OEM caps? This should be your very next step. Eliminate debris by checking underneath the head carriage for anything hanging down. Does this only occur in areas of heavy ink coverage? Because appears it is only magenta, I don't think it's debris, but the...
  11. used xc-540 arrived today, prints great, no cut!

You probably need to replace the cut carriage ribbon. The solenoid does not appear to be reacting at all.
  12. Blowing F3 fuse SP300

It seems as if you have a bad head. On the ribbon testing you did, keep the following in mind. Never criss-cross ribbons on the same head, as each side of the head connections have different functions and you can cause mainboard issues by doing that. Also, both ribbons should be plugged in at...
  13. Need help with Roland!!

Did the techs do the force adjustment calibrations for the cutter? This requires a special dummy tool that replaces the blade holder and 2 different force gauges with 2 different ranges. I had a similar issue with a VG and I determined there was an issue while performing this calibration. I...
  14. SC-540v print “shifts” at end of print

Clean the encoder strip itself with acetone and a microfiber cloth. Clean the encoder sensor by sliding a thin cloth moistened with isopropyl alcohol back and forth in the slot and dry with air pressure. Be sure the encoder strip is centered in the slot on the sensor when reinstalling the sensor.
  15. Blowing F3 fuse SP300

I would suggest you replace the print head ribbons. Swapping the ribbons and blowing the other fuse pretty much narrows your issue down to those ribbons.
  16. Need Help Roland Versacamm VS 540 printing striped barcode black line

Reseat the head ribbon cables, at both the head side and the carriage board side. When doing so, closely examine the traces at the ends of the ribbons for any damage, replace if needed. If reseating the ribbons doesn't fix it, replace them. Please report your results so others may benefit...

  19. Sp540v replacing ink constantly and overflow always full. Why???

Check your caps for swelling of the inner "foam". It that is swollen and touching the bottom of the heads, they will act as a wick and do exactly what is happening. If they are after market caps, replace them with Roland OEM caps.
  20. Need Help Roland Versacamm 540i Just Printing Black Streaks

There is no telling what caused it. How old is the head? Sometimes they just fail. The 2 main causes of head failure are clogging and head strikes.
