L260 cyan head premature falure...check your 220 power at box. Put a set of meters on the fuse and send a print...do twice for each breaker...if your power fluctuates, you need a buck boost transformer installed...I have seen this on three printers...cyan heads will fail prematurely before...
do a manual load of the same firmware...4_10.2 after printer re-boots it should automatically go out and download latest version...colors will be dramatically improved.
dots on back of prints...all printers produce aerosol and the fans inside these printers move that "live ink" all over the place. I have seen that the FBs show this with paper products more than anything else. Try to avoid printing with a large overprint...unless its corrugated plastic (which is...
what media manufacturer are you using? Roland now has "other" manufacturer profiles available on their website. Avery, 3M etc...
I would not pay someone to come write custom profiles I would invest in an iOne. Then you can create your own profiles or in most cases, re-linearize a canned profile...
a pic could help. How old is the material? "white dots" usually mean not enough heat for pores to open...run the test file from versaworks, how does that look?
The problem with any white on non uv cure printers is that the white ink is no opaque enough. I printed reverse color and eight layers of white and it is still not opaque enough...
I'm a local so I go every year. I guess going depends on what you are looking to get out of it. I go because I want to speak with the vendors to build a relationship with them. Everyone buys on price these days. And that works up until there is a problem with an application and or product...
Linearize your profiles to minimize ink levels...printing uni directional will make it look more uniform...but on certain medias with certain colors, dark blues, grey, purples you willl see more cure banding. Running at higher pass mode (yes slower) will minimize this affect.
Diversified Display Products carries a Diamond Digital line of media for solvent printers and have a true photo gloss paper as well as a nice gloss backlit material
I think they are in Hillside NJ
The cost of a latex printer is close to the cost of a z6800(current model)...the L110, L310 and L330 are even cheaper...the cost of ink and media is less expensive if you go Latex.
HP l110 warranty is 6mo before setup, then take a half hour webinar to get a second 6month warranty added for a full year...HP want to make sure you know what you are doing with this printer because it is end user install...
what rip are you using? what version printer? I always print from RGB source...no color issues with l110 and onyx postershop..you can use all profiles that where created for the 300 series!
The spindles on the 110 and 310 are similar to HP z series printers...thats the only part in my opinion that HP saved a few bucks...I prefer the spinles on the 330, 360 and 370. Maybe HP will make them available one day. Outside that the printer is solid.
