  1. Credit card keeps getting hacked

    1. Are you punching in your CC information on your computer? If so, you might have a "virus" that is grabbing your info. 2. Are you using secure websites when giving your your CC info? 3. Is your email secure and are you including your CC info in emails to people? I'd recommend changing your...
  2. Oracal 651 on flat paint failing - ideas and tips for re-install

Go buy some DTM paint. Roll it or spray it on the doors. Let it dry a few days. Apply your vinyl. Everyone will be happy afterwards. In the future always say something along the lines of "Vinyl doesn't stick well to every paint. I recommend you apply a sample piece and see how it sticks."
  3. $1500 shaper origin handheld cnc router at the end of this month who's buying?

The hand held machine seems a lot better to me if I'm being honest. People have successfully hand routed objects for years. The human is able to control feed rates pretty damn well and because you can react to feedback, it keeps you out of trouble I just can't imagine that hanging router...
  4. Wood Branding

Just to do a quick calculation to do this on a laser. Your looking at engraving from 1 edge to the other (~80") every 1.25 seconds. You're going to need to make 300 strokes per inch. That's 19,800 strokes at 1.25 seconds = 24750 seconds or 412.5 minutes or 6.875 hours. Assuming $120/hr...
  5. Paint for wood substrates

Planing and sanding down old barn wood seems kind of counter productive. I have no idea what you're looking to do, but I'd think keeping the wood natural would be best. I'd go ahead and cut a mask and paint just where you want things to "pop" white. Everything else should stay natural. As...
  6. Need font for dimensional letters?

I'm confused. Go online, get the state seal. Break it apart. Grab the letters. Done and done.
  7. DHL's subcontractor pissed me off

Take the stuff out of the crate and load your vehicle up. Then call the company you purchased the items from and tell them you need a refund for the shipping costs.
  8. DHL's subcontractor pissed me off

I have to ask, if they are 4km away, why not just go over there and get the stuff? I get your point on principle, but sheesh. You seem to be adding a lot of stress and wasting a bunch of time when you could have already went over there, loaded up, and brought it back by now.
  9. Lesson Learned Today

This is where a compromise is needed. While you didn't do the right thing in telling them there would be a cost difference and what it was, they didn't do the right thing because they provided you two vehicles that were not as per the specifications in your contract (the invoice). So you take...
  10. Oversized Aluminum & Aluminum Composites (Max Metal, Omegabond, ePanel, etc...

Any sheet good that is oversized but fits in the machine is welcome to me. I'm not sure how much extra I'd pay for it or how much I'd go searching for it though. If it was available at my local supplier and not all that much more expensive, then I'd consider it a worthwhile product...
  11. HEALTH INSURANCE!........How I loathe you!

Talk to your accountant. Potentially by shifting some money around you could take advantage of the gov't subsidies. For example, a family of 4, you should get a subsidy if you make under $97k as a family. You can also effect that number by contributing to a traditional IRA. If you make $100k...
  12. Need Help Folding Portable Trade Show Booth Prints Questions...

This goes back several years when I was in the trade show world (and not in the printing dept) but we printed, laminated on HIPS, and then applied a textured laminate. We use all different types of booths so we applied whatever magnetic/hanger needed at the end. I do know we got a decent buck...
  13. HEALTH INSURANCE!........How I loathe you!

I thought this kind of thing was a thing of the past in Canada. Is it still that big of a problem?
  14. Laminate & substrate for dimensional lettering/logos

"Formica" and thin aluminum should work well. Rubber cement and laminate glue is most commonly used but if you don't want to deal with it, you should be able to use roll adhesive. It's going to be a lot more expensive doing it that way but you won't have to worry about the smell and should...
  15. Working from home questions

Go visit a CPA. Get your business setup right. If you're actually making some money (not a few hundred bucks every few weeks) you're going to want to have your company setup right. Part of this will be getting an accounting software setup. Some people can do it themselves and others get a...
  16. Need Help Side Lit Acrylic signs

Post a picture of what you're actually looking for. There are so many ways to light acrylic up. Post what you're looking for and someone will be able to help you.
  17. cnc cut signs

Nope, none of that is true. Also I can say with near certainty that this sign does not look good up close. No way is that masking holding a sharp edge like actual paint mask.
  18. Need Help Reverse channel letter removal.

Sawzawl the studs. Then do whatever you have to to clean up the wall afterwards.
  19. paint and/or install vinyl on sides of PVC foam

You don't need to prime PVC. Paint will stick to it very well without it. Just sand down the edges until you're happy, prep/clean, and then paint with whatever paint you want.
  20. Embroidered and PVC Patches?

You need to develop a contact in China if you want to be competitive. As far as I know, there's not enough margin to buy from a US vendor and still be competitive.
