  1. Organization of jobs

In that case, I personal find paper layouts better for installations. I use tape or magnets to keep them near me and always visible and scribble notes and measurements for future reference (other side, more vehicles). After the job I put them in an installation binder for future reference...
  2. Organization of jobs

I'm know expert, but at some point, whether it's size or volume, you have to hire a production manager whose only job is to track and schedule production and installation. It's an added cost but a lifer saver when your operating at max capacity or when snafu's happen. A good production mgr...
  3. New Mutoh 1324 not printing as good as my old 1204

I assume your new printer is a lot faster and I think that is what is causing a lot your problems. Too much heat can start to cause the banding. Do you have a picture? I am not familiar with Mutoh but it can't be that much different from most other inkjets. I wouldn't print below 8 pass...
  4. New Mutoh 1324 not printing as good as my old 1204

Dot gain, your heater setting are too low. Let me modify that. Your putting ink down faster than the heaters can stabilize it. Options, turn up the heaters, slow down the head speed, more passes (less ink per pass), or use less ink (total ink limits). This typically happens in medium to...
  5. Reflective Vinyl Tunneling off the backing paper in printer

I bet the media is cold (sitting on the UPS truck). Take the roll out of the box and let the vinyl warm up overnight. It shrinks and gets stiff when it is cold and the liner doesn't. Tunneling usually happens post production when you unroll the finished graphics for install.

  11. Just Purchased a New Toy!! VS540i

My go to black was always 60 40 0 100. My theory was that yellow doesn't make it darker, but you can't fade this black either because it's too blue.
  12. Express Font Help?

    I couldn't find anything close.

    Wow, incredible skill and patience.
  14. How to trim the edge border from roll to roll

http://www.keencut.com/uk/sabre-series2.aspx Get a cutter like this and put it on a table behind your laminator and parallel to it. As your prints come out of the laminator you can cut them to length. After all the prints have been through the laminator you can now use the same table to trim...
  15. Getting printer ready for storage

Not sure I would flush it unless your willing to sell it dirt cheap. I would think potential buyers would want to see it print and a nozzle check before they buy it.
  16. HP L360 Vehicle Wraps

Some of the things I have heard from multiple people about stretching latex prints. If you overstretch latex to the point that the color thins out you can't heat it and expect it to go back like a solvent print. In essence you have ripped the ink and it won't go back. That being said, a lot of...
  17. 3M or Avery

This is my experience as well. 3M you can install the whole wrap then post heat. Avery you really need to post heat each panel as you go. I think Avery's initial tack, even squeegeed, is lower than 3M's but after the adhesive wets out it's the same. The shop I used to work in tested the...
  18. SGIA - Anyone find any cool new Tools, Techniques, or Technology

It's different Moze. The coating is a textured coating like line-x but hard like a powder coating. Whatever it is it works great.
  19. SGIA - Anyone find any cool new Tools, Techniques, or Technology

I have the yellotools bodyguard knife as well and got tired of messing with and replacing the glass tape. When it wears out the tool sticks to the vinyl. Only time will tell how the baked on coating on the image1impact wrap cut knife holds up.
  20. SGIA - Anyone find any cool new Tools, Techniques, or Technology

No, Rob taught me 15 years ago so he taught an expert/advanced class and I taught the beginning/intermediate class. My first experience teaching but I enjoyed it. I didn't have any time to walk the show floor and wanted to see if I missed anything new. The wrap cut knife is really cool...
