  1. Employee Retention and new applicants

    Not a conspiracy..... They are.
  2. Employee Retention and new applicants

If you expect them to do the same job that you do, do you pay them the same wage that you make? Weren't you also complaining a few months ago that you couldn't find anyone to work in your shop but were only paying $12-$15 an hour?
  3. Employee Retention and new applicants

For now, but the exponential curve of AI and robotics will solve that issue quicker than you think it will.
  4. Employee Retention and new applicants

If it's you installers that are leaving it could be a few different things and it's hard to say with out more info or being there. It could be that they're too busy, not enough resources to do the job (bad work area, equipment, etc...) it could be the person in charge of that dept. The...
  5. Question Motor home graphics

Take a few pics of the motor home and some measurements make a template and re-create them, make them a little bit larger. Or you can also look at using knife tape.
  6. Not sure what to use ? Please help

Depends in the Laminate. 3M 8518 (gloss) is not clear but has a slight yellow tint to it. So you would have to make sure to use an optically clear lam. But I don't see why not if you have it.
  7. Proofing Software, APP or plugin?

If you have Flexi they have a specific 'Proof' tool that you can use. It needs a little fine tuning but its pretty neat. The client is sent a link to the file where you can put in info and they can view it, type in corrections/changes.
  8. Not sure what to use ? Please help

Don't use static cling. Use a clear material like 3m 3650-114, reverse print, basicly laminate with white (3M 7725) and apply.
  9. New Guy Print/cut machine for heavy wraps

So from someone who makes a lot of snowmachine wraps, the convex material is not what I would go with. I do all my wraps with 3m IJ180cv3 and haven't had any issues (guys run the Iron Dog with them) It easier to apply, easy to remove and much easier on the plotter. Also go with latex for the...
  10. Mini bus wrap

Sounds cheep.... For something like that I would be more in the $6000-$8000 range. Your biggest cost is going to be labor. If you've never done one before it's process and a time consuming one. Lining up the panels can be very difficult if you don't set it it up correctly.
  11. Mini bus wrap

So this can be a can of worms. Are you printing it or just installing? If it's a kit there's a good chance that the person who designed it didn't take into account the ribs. I would look at taking a 1 inch or 2 inch roll of making tape and run it from top to bottom and get an accurate...
  12. Need Help PowerPoint to CoralDraw or Flexi help

That's odd as you should be able to 'save as' and do it as a .pdf. What version of Power Point are you using? How large are the images? Is it possible that it's too big and limits the formats that you can save to?
  13. Question Removal of old graphics

    By the hour only...
  14. Need Help accurate cutting

There are a few things that you can try. With out seeing your set up here is what I would suggest doing. Clean the grip rollers on the plotter. They can fill up with debris. A tooth brush with a little bit if IPA works wonders Look at slowing down the cutting. Speed it not always your...
  15. Question Wrapping with 3m

    3MIJ180-CV3 with 8518 (gloss) lam.
  16. Vinyl Question on Street - Road Signs

Get the blanks sheet them in HIP and than cut the 1175 and apply....
  17. Question Layer on a wrap

Just wrap like normal than place the neon numbers over the top. Do not try and laminate the numbers with the wrap. It will cause an air bubble around the edge of the number. Also when wrapping a race car you will need the wrap to be more fluid with the positioning. You will want to add all...
  18. Vinyl Question on Street - Road Signs

There are very specific guidelines for creating road signs. There are government, state, city specifics that you must conform to from the type of Aluminum, dimensions, to the brand/manufacture of vinyl. So you will have to do a little research. Up here in we use 3M HIP with 1170 series...
  19. New Guy The 50-year-old Startup

While it sounds kinds daunting, I think that you could probable look at this as a good thing. Like you said this is a excuse to re-invent yourself and the company to the community. Not sure of the area you in and what the market looks like, but if you guys are already in the construction...
  20. Printing Neon colors

Does it have to be neon? Can it be 'almost' neon, cause the HP latex can hit some pretty neon like colors if you set up some color profiles correctly.
