  1. Need place to send periodic photos for spot fix, remove sweat, etc.

It's just me here buried under multiple projects so if I can send out some work sometimes, it's helps a lot. These school banners all come at once 30-50 at a time and I have to clean them all up, remove the background, usually brighten them up, change the kids name and number, crop them to fit...

I can't find that post of the guy on here who was going to setup his online photo fixing...that's what I'm looking for. Or where can I send them? I do the senior banners for school, each activity the senior is in they get a banner so some of these kids have 5! The gal that takes the photos...
  4. Shop charge for laminating customer supplied lam.

It might be worth timing yourself this afternoon, remove your roll, put it back on, set up the laminator, take it off, put the roll back on, set up the laminator, add 30% and that replaces your old "$25" rate. Then charge by the hour for the laminating itself. Make sure you cushion enough for...
  5. Shop charge for laminating customer supplied lam.

I only have a manual laminator but if I had to change rolls out all the time I might get crabby. I don't know how long it takes to change rolls but I would add a "production fee" which includes removing your roll, adding his roll AND then removing his AND adding yours and getting it ready for...
  6. One man shop growing pains

I had a time wasting customer yesterday that I hung up on and another one stop in today. This post came to mind! The phone guy wanted me to give him banner scraps and cut him letters so he could piece them together for a banner for his truckers convoy display in his front yard. He wanted per...
  7. old d 610 just died after 30 years. need assistance guys

Well, you have me beat, my Graphtec is 18 years old. Sometimes the screen doesn't work so I have sharpie on the buttons and it only runs sheets through but I love it! I since have a new one but I still use the Graphtec for certain things.
  8. Background Removal Software

  9. SERIOUS engine trouble....

  10. Liquid laminate

The frog juice comes in a can like paint and is similar in consistency to polyurethane. I have used it in the past on some things and I used a foam roller. You can spray it if you thin it. I just rolled it on a sign and I’ll have it outside at my shop as a test. I have problems with people using...
  11. Liquid laminate

Do you have a latex printer? That's what Geneva and I are concerned about...the laminate on latex
  12. Printing and laminating a panel for a large sign board

The final sign will have something like this in the background, with "sound waves" so I was thinking vertical might be pretty hidden...maybe not?
  13. Printing and laminating a panel for a large sign board

I might do a vertical seam just because the artwork has vertical sound waves so it might blend well that way. Thanks all, just wanted to make sure I'm on the right path, hate to ruin a bunch of material LOL
  14. Printing and laminating a panel for a large sign board

So I have my first "panel print" on my new printer! 54" printer and I need to print panels for a 5'x10' ACM board. My questions... 1. Do I print the panel, laminate it then overlap it on the signboard? I would assume yes? 2. How much should I overlap it? With typical vinyl I would overlap about...
  15. Liquid laminate

There was one on the HP site that was a 3M product but it has to be UV cured. I emailed my sales person at HP and he told me to check out Clearshield, which someone else on here suggested also. I called the company and they said they don't have anything for Latex. My guess is that people are...

  17. Liquid laminate

I did a little research and can't find a laminate that is recommended for latex. Let me know if you find one because I like liquid laminate.
  18. what's next?

I bought my first printer in December and I'm so glad I did. There's so many vinyl shortages and even if you can find it, it takes forever to look at 5 different websites to find a few yards of vinyl. Now I can just print instead of wasting time looking for vinyl (for most projects, not all)
  19. Is my pricing too high for printed vinyl?

I have one guy that is a veteran and he always comes in December or January so I have plenty of time. He also has a sponsor that pays for basically anything that I do including shirts - I'm totally good doing that car! My boys are huge into racing and their dad raced a late model when we met...
  20. Circle sticker issues

"Our designer says it’s near impossible to center art work on a circle with small border" - this leads me to believe he is creating the artwork then creating a separate black circle and trying to center it. He should be creating the circle art then add an outline so it's always perfect. OR...
