Nice layout.
I HATE trying to build logos out of business names with initials.
Who ever thought thought it was a good idea to name your business with initials anyway? Horrible idea. Not very original or memorable.
Saturday rant over.
I like the top version a lot Shane. You may want to consider dropping "& Graphics" for this though so you can increase the size of SunCity Signs and center it vertically.
Corel is much more robust than Flexi. I wouldn't switch. I still can't understand how a program designed for the sign industry wouldn't support transparencies on bitmaps. Unless that's changed with the newer versions.
I'm surprised you're having these issues with Corel. Have you tried...
The letters are incised. Haven't tried prismatic yet, but it looks like you can do a good job with hand tools...

Thanks guys, I'll keep experimenting. Might have to invest in a small sprayer someday.
Gino, I'm not a sign painter, just use the quill because I have it. :) I use the mask to carve first, then leave it in place for painting.
I've been practicing (and still need lots of practice) my hand carving skills. I have to say a big thanks to Adrian Page for taking so much time to help me get going with this.
Here's a beach sign I'm wrapping up today. Made from HDU and hand painted with acrylic latex paints.
Thanks for the tips.
Don't your first coats dry though by the time you remove the mask?
My coats may have been a bit heavy, I'm coating with a quill.
Painting a small HDU sign.
