  1. Best time to buy a printer??

Probably the best time to buy a printer is just before the launch the new model! But then you will panic!!!:banghead: This is the most head battering thing you will ever do, in my opinion. SC
  2. nozzle dx4 buble

I haven't worked on one of these machines but it has the DX4 heads so I would say either cracked/split print head manifolds or dampers. If definitely not one of those issues it could be pumps or splits or leaks in joins in pipes back to the cartridges. Also make sure the printer is leveled out. SC
  3. Valuejet 1604 pf current error

The actual encoder disc may be misshapen/buckled which may be letting the sensor touch the disc. Rotate whilst looking at the disc sensor gap. Also there is a spacer that goes in between the shaft and the assembly which centres the assembly, this was a later amendment and could be the problem...
  4. Cleaning Brushed Stainless Steel

Thanks for all the advice people. But Taking the posts down and sending them to a specialist company is not an option. They are just tarnished and blotchy in places almost as if someone has spilt coffee on the face. Most of the cleaning has to be done on site (in a busy street), so it needs to...
  5. Cleaning Brushed Stainless Steel

Hi None of the posts are removable, their is 30 off directional signs with at least 3 directional arms that are removable. Also their is 8 free standing lockable information boards which are 4' x 4' in size with two posts. SC
  6. Cleaning Brushed Stainless Steel

Personally the amount of signs and posts to renovate in this way would take so much time, the job would not happen. I heard that bicarbonate soda and washing up liquid works well and then some vinegar! Any other suggestions? SC
  7. Cleaning Brushed Stainless Steel

Around our local town we have a large amount of stainless steel directional signs and Information boards. Stainless Steel has been used as we are a coastal town and used to have a huge steel industry. These are manufactured from Brush Stainless Steel but the finish is discolored and tarnished...
  8. Cap not sealing

I would remove and refit as when I changed my last station some of the screws did not seat right. It might be also a good idea to check the pump is working correctly and none of the pipes and connector from the cap to the pump lines have come adrift. The connector is very small and reduces the...
  9. Temporary Exterior Sign

A banner is already classed as a "temporary sign" anything else is the real deal. I think this customer of yours is just wanting the "moon on a stick" If your customer is worried about tacky they will have to find more $$$$ for the real thing. SC
  10. 3m ij-39

I have dabbled in MX panels (which use the same low energy panels) and using other manufacturers materials, and believe me I would only advise on either Convex or a material called Substance. Both are equally good. But as for doing full wraps onto low energy plastics I reckon you will always...
  11. Mutoh SC 1400D Contour cut issue

    No One?!!
  12. Mutoh SC 1400D Contour cut issue

Well I have just cleaned the rubber rollers and the grit rollers but they were not that dirty. Is their another issue? Thanks SC
  13. Mutoh SC 1400D Contour cut issue

We have always had an issue with this plotter cutting contour cut prints and it seems to get worse the longer it is. On checking today when the plot had finished (and run off) the left hand roller was no longer on the material. This is a machine problem and not a software one. Is their a way of...
  14. Sign van!

LOL ...... You got me there David!!! I just wouldn't wish it on any country to end up as the UK. We had coal and closed all the pits and bought from europe as it was cheaper, we had gas but sold it off, we had oil and sold it off!!!! We have nothing now. It would cost me nearly $300 to travel...
  15. Sign van!

Maybe also because here in the UK we are paying over $9 a gallon, the engines have to be very frugal! The US is just wasting fuel for the hell of it! Very environmentally friendly.......NOT SC
  16. Sign van!

We have had these vans in europe for a number of years now. The size inside is what is a winner, and are just a large box. We get the 3litre diesel but most certainly do not get a petrol option and especially a V6! Mind you the 3litre diesel is the largest capacity available and they would be...
  17. Problem with printing black

These run the Epson DX4 head I believe? I reckon the manifold is leaking either where it goes into the damper or the rubber O ring at the base of the manifold. Hope this Helps SC
  18. Calling all Mutoh Masters... Valuejet problem

I can say for certain that even with 2-3 nozzles down in a specific area you will get prints like this. Replace your maintenance station straight away. I would not mess about with pf adjustment until the station is replaced, you can now see your pf is way out. How old is the head, is the machine...
  19. Help! and another problem......1304 and then 1204

This is a contamination issue. Normally caused by the capping station either not sealing properly or something touching the head directly and allowing the ink to flow between all lines. Firstly I would check the cap and that the pump is pulling through properly. If not buy a new station. SC
  20. Mutoh VJ1604 Still have sub tank low errors

That sounds like a horrendous way to sort it, not to mention very messy. Is it not just an issue with the sensor not reading correctly and needs bent into a new position. Maybe this is why the later machines had the cartridges on top. SC
