I think finding a used 30" roland would be a better long term solution as those machines can print fast enough to make decent profit and take on bigger jobs. Also you can easily cut 60" rolls or 54" rolls in half to use on the 30" machines greatly expanding the materials you can print without...
I'm basing my assessment on owning/using a VS300 for almost 10 years (same inks as the BN20 but WAY faster), using white and metallics on the VS300 (which were replaced by cleaning cartridges after those channels clogged up). Also have a couple of roland SG2 (which are slightly slower than the...
with Graphtec cutter you can continue using versaworks to print, you will need to make new print files that include the Graphtec registration marks and barcodes, it is easy once you get the hang of it
have you seen how slow the BN20 is? Very bad idea imo if you have another printer already, what printer do you have that creates so much waste that you don't want to use it?
I have some unlaminated 651 and the general formulations equivalent printed with roland inks from 5+ years ago on cars and hasn't aged a bit. 99% of vinyl I print is the GF calendared vinyl (the cut vinyl type, "not printable") - 0 problems, ill look up the item number in the morning
I use uline packing tables,

Very solid and will last a lifetime
I have some set up next to each other to make something like a 16ft x 8ft size table
I use a permanent adhesive clear vinyl (oracal 651 or similar) to create decals similar to roommates. The permanent adhesive eliminates any "not sticking" problems (which are common with modern paints) and it is still removable. Fathead - there are lots of 6mil vinyls that work the same way...
I killed my Graphtec last year with the strongest static shock I have ever felt, my finger hurt for 2 days. I think it had something to do with a new synthetic material shirt I was wearing, haven't wore is since to work
You can use your current printers with a separate cutter or a new roland sg2/vg2 with a separate cutter.
I have 2 sg2 that have been trouble free printing everyday (vg2 will be a little faster). Most of the time now I use graphtec to cut but sometimes I'll still cut on the rolands depending on...
I would Make a copy of text into a new layer. Then outline text, join, offset path. Fill the new shape with a gradient and give the outline the yellow color. This should be pretty simple to make.
1. I have a Roland VS series printer from 2012 that is still printing today it probably averaged 6hr print time each workday for the last 10 years. I can't believe it still works. Only repairs so far are new printhead and scan motor.
I was thinking about selling it as I have 2 truvis and a...
Are you installing this yourself or selling products for customers to apply themselves?
In my experience it is much better to overlap if customer will be applying themselves as it is more forgiving.
Also trimming with overlap is easier and doesn't have to be perfect, 1" overlap and you can...
