  1. how to start in pylon design?

Agreed and that's what I figured...just seems kind of misleading. Not taking anything away from them either...all of their work looks really nice. I guess if I see a sign under a "Lit Sign Gallery", it looks like they manufactured the sign as opposed to simply replacing the face. Anyway, nice...
  2. how to start in pylon design?

Same website name? Not sure what ya mean. I was referring to all of the pylon signs under the "Lit Sign Gallery" in the Portfolio section. Just confused because it looks like they've done pylons...?
  3. Another new sign

Man you've got some great talent. Wish I had some of that. Very nice.
  4. how to start in pylon design?

You need to be familiar with pertinent codes (setbacks, sight triangles, minimum clearances, maximum heights, etc.), engineering requirements, engineer-stamped drawings, access to/employment of a master sign electrician, estimating the job, have the required tools, machinery, and...
  5. Window Banding Installation

Quick sketch... The fat part of the keyhole goes over the screw head. The narrow part of the keyhole slides over and hangs on the shaft of the screw.
  6. Window Banding Installation

I'd use .187'' acrylic or 6mm ACM/ACP and cut a keyhole at each end. Run a screw into the million and the panels could easily be removed and rehung.
  7. New client logo just finished...

Very cool. And it pops! :)
  8. Window Banding Installation

75' or 75''.....? Can you screw into the mullions?
  9. Installing prints on windows

Agreed, but if it's a large/thin enough window, it can flex and the Big Squeegee becomes useless. It's a quick way to ruin your vinyl.
  10. 16' Storefront Sign Substrate? Acrylic Letters

I would do a .125'' aluminum panel with a 1'' aluminum angle frame. Paint it all white with Matthews or similar and attach the letters to the panel. Clip-mount the panel to the brick.
  11. Need some help and opinions for tag line

Is he stuck on ''Executive Rides''? 'Rides' seems kind of casual/slang for the image he's going for. ''Executive Transport'' or something seems like it would convey his image better. For the tag line... Excellence. Delivered.
  12. Recents

Looks good, Keith. I bet you're loving that skid auger.
  13. Installing prints on windows

Use a soft Teflon squeegee and spray the front with a solution of water and dish soap (go heavy on the dish soap). You shouldn't have to use much pressure on the squeegee.
  14. Recent work...

    Thanks guys!
  15. Installing prints on windows

    Have you tried installing wet?
  16. Recent work...

I didn't make the sign, but yepper, it's layers - brushed over polished. Thanks!
  17. Bus wrap

Wow...can't believe that's the same bus. Nice work!
  18. Recent work...

Thanks guys. As always, I can only take credit for the installs. Except for the 'ELEMETAL' logo and letters - I did that job turn-key. The 4'x6' and 4'x8' panels are all Gatorfoam with digital print. I epoxied keyhole hangers to the backs after drilling out the keyhole shape into the foam. I...
  19. this week

Magic Hat's Humdinger Burn Pile would go good with a steak on whatever grill that shield is going on.
  20. Recent work...

Using today for a catch-up-on-invoicing/quotes day. Figured I'd post a few recent jobs.
