  1. Online bid sites

Most government and public owned companies goto tender. Not sure how it is in Ontario... But over here that means most are out on bcbid or goto queens printers who send stuff out to specific companies to be bid on. I believe BC bid is like $100 a month... Then some of the bigger contracts have...
  2. Just In WARNING to anyone using a NAS, specifically QNAP

Gsuite for business. https://support.google.com/a/answer/6034782?hl=en They say there's a 1 TB limit for suites that have under 4 users... But it's not enforced and never has been. I have about 40 TB uploaded on a single account...and I know people with 300 TB uploaded. It's nice... It gives...
  3. Just In WARNING to anyone using a NAS, specifically QNAP

$10 a month for unlimited google storage, and Qnap backs it up in real time.... If it finds a duplicate file (Like when ransomware takes over) It wont delete the old file, it'll just replicate it. Best investment ever for our business, I recommend looking into it in the future if you dont have...
  4. Need Help Die-cutting labels and stickers

Yes, theres a video of how they produce their decals. I believe it was when they werent as gigantic as they are now... I can't seem to find the video anymore. Keep in mind they have 17 locations across the world. I'm sure every location is setup differently based on their needs. The about us...
  5. Need Help Graphtec contour cutting length

Have you guys done this? I dont know why it limits itself to 80" as default... But we used to always have the same issue. We always load in roll mode, even if it's a sheet just to prevent issues like this.
  6. Suggestions Looking to Ditch Flexi..cut monthly costs

Sure... the cracked software may work. But is it worth losing your business over? Especially in the US where copyrights can bankrupt you... It's not worth it. If you cant afford the $50 a month Flexi costs... I dont think you could afford the legal bills of using pirated software. A lot of...
  7. Suggestions Customer asked for this and I'm not sure?

For the life of me I cant find a video.... I spent an hour, thats enough time! A knife like this. You use it and push forward and it'll trim alupanel / aluminum really fast with a perfect cut. We never use snapoffs to trim, it's kind of impossible on the thicker reflective... and this way is...
  8. Suggestions Customer asked for this and I'm not sure?

No love for the kitchen knife?! It's all we use. We do lots of thick reflective... so a 9mm blade wont cut it straight. Once you get used to a knife, it's 10x faster than a 9mm... Works on everything except coroplast and leaves a cleaner edge than a knife!
  9. Suggestions Looking to Ditch Flexi..cut monthly costs

$40 a month is hard to beat. If ALL you do is add cutlines... vinylmaster seems to be the best. I've tried illustrator..corel, flexi, even the new Onyx Truefit... Vinyl master has made the best, most consistant cut lines for printed photos / pictures. You need LTR for making cutcontours...
  10. Reflective vinyl printing.

It depends on what type of reflective and what you're doing with it. A latex can print on all the primsmatics and glass beads... You won't be traffic certified unless you buy a specific one though. A solvent can print on all the glass beads... Some solvents can print on primsmatics... But...
  11. Suggestions Customer asked for this and I'm not sure?

Why not treat it like any sign? Get the alupanel cut to shape... Then print the guy with some bleed and apply the vinyl to the sign. We do it all the time... You could cut out the guy and then apply it... But it's not necessary, if you add bleed you still need to trim it... If you don't add...
  12. Reflective vinyl printing.

Buy a latex! We print on reflective all day everyday...never any fingerprints. I love my solvent, and I got used to it enough that I put my 560 up for sale. Then I printed a banner... Just moving it 30 mins after it was done printing I got a hand print on it. On the latex you can man handle...
  13. Question 3M Cast vinyl shortage?!?!

Something to do with the plasticizer used in vinyls. Our rep told us there was a 2 month wait for any new 180 wrap material and their current stock is all they had, so buy up what we need... We do a ton of wraps in may, so we ended up buying 8 bundles of 180. They still had 80-90 bundles left...
  14. Need Help Die-cutting labels and stickers

That's what I call the Fiverr special. Everytime I get stickers with cut lines already in the file I ask where they got it done...almost always it's " I paid $8 for them to design and set it up on Fiverr" If it's a big order I offer to fix it for free. But it was 6 files, 25 of each...
  15. Need Help Die-cutting labels and stickers

I know I keep linking Graphtec stuff to you... But the Summa is just as capable as the graphtec. I'm not trying to push you into a graphtec (Especially since you cant get one in your Country!) Just showing you what the machines are capable - Graphtec says the same thing about complex shapes...
  16. Need Help Die-cutting labels and stickers

Theres 2 ways. You can have it in the third holder using the same blade and kiss cut and then perf cut without having to move blades... OR you can set it up to run condition 1 which is a kiss cut, then once all of condition one is done... run 8, at which point itll ask you to change the blade...
  17. Need Help Die-cutting labels and stickers

You should definitely make one! I feel like all the youtube videos are dealers who don't know what they're doing... or hobbyists who think they know what they're doing and get subpar results (For both Graphtec and summa). I just saw a Youtube video about a guy with a HP Cutter (Summa)...
  18. Need Help Die-cutting labels and stickers

I've had a few people messaging and asking about Perf cutting on the graphtec... I get it, the company I worked for went 10+ years not realizing it can perf cut... Now we perf cut almost everything, it makes life so much easier. I made a few videos so people can see how it is. This is on my...
  19. Need Help Die-cutting labels and stickers

Any reason you're ruling out graphtec? I don't know if tangential helps with perf cutting at all. It's great if you're doing really small cuts since it's not dragging the knife... But I haven't found anything our graphtec can't cut that our flatbed with tangential can .. except for thick small...
  20. How to reduce image quality for photos in Corel

Ahh, proof wise that makes sense! I'm never involved in proofing, so I didn't even think of it. I think one time I made a proof out of a huge file... I just Rasterized the whole artboard in illustrator and resized it, shrunk it down pretty small. I "Believe" when we do proofs at work and...
