  1. Need Help Die-cutting labels and stickers

You may have missed it, but this is on a graphtec, not a Summa! I only posted to show you don't need to "Diecut" to get good results. This is the main reason I went Graphtec over Summa... A lot of people say Summa is just as good at perf cutting... but I always asked how when there is no cut...
  2. Coro sign handles?

https://trafficsafetyzone.com/product/stop-and-slow-paddle-replacement-handle/ You could contact these guys, see if they sell both parts... Probably get a decent discount when buying 100 of them. https://trafficsafetyzone.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/paddle_short_handle_SSP12HANDLE.3.png...
  3. HP Latex 570 length of downtime?

You're good for months... or at least 1 month. Your heads may clog, but odds are they'll work just fine after a few cleanings. I remember the HP Tech told me a school had it unplugged for 3 months, then it worked flawlessly after a few cleanings once they plugged it back in. The ink doesn't...
  4. How to reduce image quality for photos in Corel

Now that you have an answer I won't be derailing the thread! Just curious... How come you guys downsize? Is it to save space, processing time when ripping? Or something else?
  5. Coro sign handles?

We buy aluminum tubing .. cut it to size, throw a cheap bike handle on it and rivet it in. Really cheap to make yourself if you can cut the tubing up and slice a line down the too for the Coro to fit into.... Not sure of any vendors who sell them.
  6. Need Help Die-cutting labels and stickers

Ij35 and signmax, I also use 8048 and 8508. For perf cutting I've found the vinyl matters the most... And it's not so much the vinyl, but the backing paper. I've tried 3M, Avery, cheap stuff .. so far 3M has been a perfect cut with no rough edges. Avery cuts ok as well, but sometimes the...
  7. Need Help Die-cutting labels and stickers

Stickermule uses about 6 graphtecs and diecut a couple hundred thousand decals a day with it .. I'm sure they're making tons more than most of us on S101, so it's a pretty good stunt! I can't help for the summa. But I can do decently complex curves with perf cutting in the graphtec... Nice...
  8. Epson black ink?

This is why I keep an extra 2 of each cartridge on hand at all times. Yes .. you tie up some capital, but I've been burned by shortages one too many times. Did they say why there's a shortage, or when it'll be over? I have a few rolls of wraps coming up... Should be ok but it's going to...
  9. Roland Tech service quote $$ Are you serious?? $$

$200 an hour seems insane to you? Ours is $150...but thats in Canada, you guys pay better down south. The tech likely doesnt make $200 an hour - The company the tech works for likely makes $200 an hour, and he gets paid $50 an hour. The tech isnt busy 8 hours a day every day...so some of the...
  10. Need Help installing perf vinyl getting weird pattern on laminate

The overlam is grabbing onto the window through the holes. Give it 24-48 hours and the pattern will go away in its own
  11. Discussion Floor Decals Pricing

We just did 1200 12" floor decals for $8 a piece.... using IJ40 / 8509 (crapy floor combination, but it was at the height of Covid...all that was available and what 3M Said to use). Now we use IJ40, or a high tac depending where it's going... and a nice thick floor overlam. In Canada. You...
  12. Vinyl layout table top

Yellotools has a nice thick cutting Matt. Way better than the hard rhino ones
  13. Rotating in Onyx Cut-Server

Another option if you can't get Onyx to work... Is to use cutting master. It's a bit more manual setup... But it'll help you get by if there's something that can't wait. With 4 corners on it rotates no problem. There's a bunch of address labels or promotional items we have setup in cutting...
  14. Rotating in Onyx Cut-Server

You can turn intermediate marks off under manage cutters... That'll solve the problem... It won't save what you've already printed if that's what you're trying to do. We rotate all the time, but I've never tried with intermediate marks.
  15. Question Life span of a print from an HP Latex 560

You guys use such slow passes. We 8 pass everything... 10 pass a few things. I know of people who get away with 6 passing most items. I printed a red warning decal the day I got our 560. Stuck it out facing the sun, No laminate or nothing .. 4 years later and it looks just as good as a...
  16. Commercial Window Tint

Real Window tint is paper thin. You can crease it just by moving it. I can wrap a car blindfolded... But it took me three tries to tint the windows and it's "acceptable for my use". Tinting isnt hard. The learning curve is small... If you can install vinyl, you can learn to do tinting. ...
  17. Affinity 1.9 Upgrade - Rooting for the little guy

Anyone switch over from illustrator/photoshop to affinity? I tried affinity for my home PC... but I just couldn't get used to the subtle differences. It's great software... but I feel like once you're used to illustrator or corel draw... getting used to new software negates any savings from...
  18. Discussion S40600 or HP115 for stickers?

I mean... if you want to be locked into one vendor for vinyls, sure. Not to mention the only brand they have is prismjet... which seems to be their in house brand. Cheap calendared crap for $100 a 24" roll... Where as you can get a 54" roll of the same quality (Still garbage) for $100...
  19. Discussion S40600 or HP115 for stickers?

One thing to consider is roll size. Most material comes in 54 inch 30 in or 60 in. I don't think I've ever seen a 24-in roll of printable vinyl. So you're looking to get everything cut down, some vendors charge up to $10 per roll for that. You're also going to have a bunch of wasted material...
  20. Poll... Is this site still slow?
