painting a vehicle black seems to me to be easier and less expensive than wrapping. i get people asking about just wrapping there car in one color and i would still have to charge for all the labor of the install, so it always comes out better to just have it painted.
i'm with jill, the different types of clipart (photos and vectors) is a little strange, but overall it looks good. did you design the logo in the center or was it supplied?
i don't like it that much.
the cleanup around the top piece of art (the diner sign) it looks to have some...
in the effects menu under stylize there is a round corner effect... you can set it to round to a certain radius, then expand to make it permanent. i've never done the routing you are describing so i'm not sure if this is something that will help?
i think seams would not be a big deal on something like this... i have a job to bid redoing a storefront with the attached pic. the total length is about 75-80ft and about 10 ft high but the original substrate is multiple small panels like older billboards and no one even notices.
thanks for all the compliments... i think i may have to do something else to put on the other side of my storefront to balance it out, but haven't come up with something to compete with the dragon....
thanks .. seeing a few of your articles and features in SignCraft is what got me inspired to try Magic Sculpt. i have a small shop and wanted add some dimension to some of my stuff and couldn't really afford a cnc setup right now. it would be a dream to do the stuff you do.
i used a glue from the hot wire foam factory for gluing foam... the mdo was so i would have something solid to mount to the backer and for support of the sculpture.
the vinyl sheilds the foam from the heat gun and it contracts and recesses were there is no vinyl . it does eat away...
i decided to try the magic sculpt epoxy clay and do me a dragon.... its insides are foam (spary and insulation boards) , wire and mdo. the sheild is insulation board etched with a heat gun and vinyl stencils.
the magic sculpt is amazingly hard once it cures.. i can't break it even small...
yep if budget is not a concern.. go with one of the big daddy's. i don't know much about them (merritt does though) because i couldn't afford one. so i would ask him.
on my falcon it seems to be the heaters... we did the metal foil tape modification and it helped. i could get down eye level with the grit rollers and see the slight buckling of the media and it did correspond with the vertical lines. so uneven heat was my guess.
there have been some...
get some design books (mike stevens mastering layout, dan antonelli logo design) with whatever software you chose you will need to learn the concepts of good design. if you already have flexi, you can do most everything in that. people will say you need adobe or corel and you just might, but...
i think the 1204 can print the full 48" maybe a little more? i think it accepts 49" or 51" media? but you can buy it from SW for $8995 i think. now i don't know if that includes shipping or anything else. i get emails from SW advertising this deal sometimes... i don't get them from fellers...
