That is a thermal laminator, NOT what you want for a sign company. Who do you buy your supplies from? They should have some brands they recommend and possibly some demo machines you can come see or try out.

My point was that I wouldn't worry about it if it was just the regular cast laminates, so I would have no worries at all about the envision series.

We still use our Gerbers everyday and I haven't seen anything like this recently. Possibly you changed a default/preference accidentally in your output manager?

I have used a lot of different laminators and I have to say that you can't go wrong with a GFP laminator. We have the GFP 563th with heat assist and run it all day long w/o issues, I think it can laminate around 61.5" wide max, but we've only had to do that once and we have three 63" printers here.

Disconnect the "Y" connecting the magenta and yellow cap tubes. Pull directly through the magenta tube only. Dumb question, but does your magenta ink cartridge have ink?

yes, you should have pressure pulling back. if not, there is an air leak.

You should be fine with using a 3M cast laminate on top of the Avery cast wrap vinyl. I would not expect any problems. However, you will not receive any warranty on the vinyls from either manufacturer, I have no idea if this matters to you / your shop. You will also not qualify for 3M's MCS...

Pull from below the caps with the heads parked, gently.

Between $650 and $1000 depending on the customer/project/qty. Should take around a day for two guys the first time, after a few they should be down to around 5 hours, especially with no front. Remember you will need scaffolding for this.

I do not think an Edge 2 will work in the original model Edge, but it should work in an Edge 1. I have an Edge 1 for parts if you want to make an offer (missing pixels), I am near CVG airport.

I have never been able to successfully print over Silver Medal foil before, thought we could once and ruined 30 yards... I believe you need to get some VinylEFX Smooth Silver vinyl and print the magenta onto that.

Move the vinyl as far "right" as possible and move the head as far "down" as possible.

Sounds like a problem with the capping station seal or a weak pump. Could also be leaking dampers, but I don't think so.
