  1. Printable Maps?

I have a customer wanting a map of the greater Cincinnati area that is printable for around 6' tall. I have tried Google, but all that I get coming up is links to places like google Maps, Mapquest, etc (digital/electronic maps). I need one I can download and edit (add their locations) for...
  2. Applying Application Tape

Really, any used laminator should do fine for masking large quantities of vinyl graphics. We use an old Titan laminator here for masking.
  3. Real Gold brand and edge sealing

We only use the extended overlaminate on products where it is required. (like Leo's) We do not do that on Real Gold brand products.
  4. Overlaminates?

3M 8519 is what we have used for 15+ years for this type of application. We have done a LOT of firetrucks this way, but it all started because some materials require it. A lot of modern materials (Real Gold for example) do not require this type of 1/8" border laminate.
  5. Corrupted file in Gerber Omega Composer 4.0

    email it to me jason(at)cruxroadboardz.com
  6. Epson S80600

We have two Epson's here and one runs on Onyx Production House and the other runs on Onyx PosterShop. They print the same, the only difference I've ever seen is that one (postershop?) only lets you install two printers while the other I believe is unlimited.
  7. Epson S80600

Never, ever, ever trust a dealer to be honest about the products they are selling. I believe that is why they posted here asking "real world users" their honest opinions. We just bought an HP latex based on a dealer's recommendation... It is now back up for sale because it didn't do what they...
  8. Roland SP-540V Carriages are Disconnected error

I think that is a ribbon cable problem, been a looooong time though.
  9. Epson S80600

We have two of the previous generation printers (S70670 / S70675) and LOVE them. Great colors/print quality and great white also. They just run run run. Super fast, and fast drying inks. The new series inks are 3M MCS compatible inks, so that is a bonus if you're a 3M shop.
  10. VENT - Things that annoy you in the print industry.

Also, another thing that drives us nuts here is trying to figure out what exact vehicle the customer has that needs wrapped. They will tell you that it's a Sprinter or Transit, etc and send you a straight on shot of the front and rear, and a real narrow angled shot of the side (because it is...
  11. VENT - Things that annoy you in the print industry.

That one guy who has the stock photo site who is an a-hole on the phone. I forgot about how annoying he is...
  12. Client Asked Me To Relocate Plastic Gemini Letters. ADVICE?

(Assuming no one has a paper template for install and that the letters survive removal) I would take a piece of phototex out there and lay it over the letters and trace them. Then remove them from the wall and bring them and the phototex back to the office and put the letters on the phototex...
  13. Clear repositionable vinyl

IJ40C will remove w/o residue, but is not 100% clear, get a sample from a distributor and give it a try.
  14. Floor graphics

We use a material that you don't have to laminate for floor graphics whenever possible.
  15. Clear repositionable vinyl

IJ40c-clear is about the closest I can think of and it is NOT optically clear, but is kind of clear and has air release.
  16. VENT - Things that annoy you in the print industry.

We run three 63" printers here and also two 15" edge printers, so we usually are primarily buying a lot of 54/48" material for the wide format, so we just slit the rolls of lam down for the small printers, you can also slit rolls of banner, mask, etc. We also do a decent amount of striping for...
  17. Dripping Ink?

Not just drips while printing; if you unpark the head and move it over to the capping station and wipe it off, there will be magenta drip on it a minute later, then wipe it off and a minute later one will be back.
  18. Disintegrating Rubber

ThePlotterDoctor has the best rate on replacement drums I have found.
  19. Installation area pics

LED lights on the walls really helped here, and paint everything white to help bounce light around. Put a LOT of outlets in and put in a workbench area for installers to keep their tools on and rechargeable tools plugged in at.
