  1. Good source for large work tables?

The ones posted above look nice but I am cheap so I made all my own tables and desk. When you are making tables 8's long and the lumber is 8' long there's really not a lot of cutting, you can make one pretty quickly. My son and I built 3 - 8'x4' tables in a couple hours.
  2. Merry Christmas! I finally bought a printer

    Yes, I bought local!
  3. Merry Christmas! I finally bought a printer

Yes I did...I got the house and shop, my ex got the money so starting small LOL
  4. Merry Christmas! I finally bought a printer

Thank you! Yes, I have been. The biggest fear was if I can figure this all out and maintain it being just one person. Also it will be more labor but in the long run, it's become much more obvious that I can expand my business having printing on-site.
  5. Merry Christmas! I finally bought a printer

I'm excited to share I finally bought a printer - after 2 years of Notarealsignguy telling me I won't regret it! LOL It's been delivered and is sitting here waiting for the electrician to install some 220's for me, and I had a water pipe issue that required the floor to be jackhammered up so a...
  6. Question How to make a sale?

Word of mouth, FB ads and like someone said get your Google listing up to date, add a couple photos of some work you've done. I never cold called because I'm uncomfortable doing that as I'm a bit shy.
  7. Adding ecommerce

On a small scale, I have WIX for selling apparel and other print items with a lot of local success. Clearly, you need something more than WIX. A few of the items I've sold or do sell - fire department apparel, school spirit wear, select school items like fat heads and "conference champs" type...
  8. Gradients

I have some experience with gradients but I would like to know the proper way to do this. I have artwork from a graphic designer (maybe this is my first problem) and it's worked well for the past uses in small capacities. I've also created a nice screen for screen printing which some of you...
  9. What should I do?

Sorry Tex, Johnny told me the same thing....it's all gymnastic equipment!
  10. Declining jobs based on moral/ethical grounds

Hopefully I never have to find out! I'd rather have something handy then nothing... Once when my son was young he was sleep walking, I heard a blood curdling scream in the middle of the night coming from the downstairs back hall. I don't think my feet touched a single step going downstairs, I...
  11. Question Do old printers still have value?

Ebay or Facebook Marketplace "You haul, make me an offer"
  12. Declining jobs based on moral/ethical grounds

I have a can of Raid, it shoots 20' and is enough to get me out the back door - so my mom says. In spring my son and I are taking the hunter safety course so we plan to purchase him a gun for deer hunting and I might get something for work. I have reached for my Raid a couple times but then...
  13. Winter installations

This is what I learned from the school of hard knocks last winter...most important thing is have hand warmers in your coat pockets so you can warm up your fingers for a minute here and there. I tried the Rapid Tac 2 but found it easier to just dry apply. I keep the vinyl inside, so as much...
  14. Declining jobs based on moral/ethical grounds

All this SS talk just reminded me...last year I had a biker come in looking for some shirts, he was creeping me out, starting hitting on me and talking about his wife problems, then later that night was texting me about her - I ignored him. The next day I told him I was too busy to make the...
  15. Using a Trade printer... Uploading files

I agree with Adam. Even among us "professionals" we still make errors sometimes and the less errors the happier we all are.
  16. Need reliable trade printer (not 4over)

You can upload your artwork and change the sizing for most items and it will update right there (magnets have a few preset sizes). It also saves all your artwork so if you need to reorder you can do so quickly, unless there's a contour cut, then you need up upload the contour cut file each time...
  17. Need reliable trade printer (not 4over)

It's terrible...just trust us LOL way more clicks and way too much information on each page. I hate it. You can't upload the art until after you pay for it. Compared to Signs365 on the last screen shot where most everything is done on one page and it's super clean.
  18. Need reliable trade printer (not 4over)

I feel your pain...that's why we both prefer Signs365...ordering is super easy
  19. Need reliable trade printer (not 4over)

I was thinking the same thing. I'm confused on how the sales are being made at that volume without some kind of a website or ordering system.
  20. offsite installations

1.5 my hourly rate for the first hour even if it only only 20 minutes, after that it's hourly rate.
