Color Management
I am not using any color management system between my monitor, Corel X-5 and my Roland SP-300
Not sure if ColorRip software has the swatches you are talking about.
Jim
I am using Orcal 3640-G vinyl and ColorRip software and having problems with the color red just not looking vibrant.
I am not sure if I am using the right profile which I found from the Orcal site for 3640-G
Any one else using this vinyl use a different profile?

How to change red color in ColorRip software?
I would like to change the red color to a deeper red and was wondering if anyone knew just how to do it.
I am using Oracal 3640-G and while the profile I am using is decent I have the same problem others have with the reds being light colored which...

Thanks for your help and quick response.
When I start my printer it shows the ink type as Eco Sol which is what the printer would have used in 2004 when it was new.
I believe you are right about the printer not knowing which inks are being used.
I will check the Dim switch setting's...
It may also be a USB cable that has gone bad
I would try changing cable and USB ports before replacing parts on a mother board.
Are you plugged into a USB port on a computer or into a USB port on a hub? USB Hubs go bad a lot !!!
Try all the simple fixes before looking for larger problems.

Sorry I should have mentioned that I did power up in service mode and I did change the switch setting to exactly what you said but it still gives me the same error message.
Does not recognize the ink sets!!!
The original SP-300 came with Eco Sol inks but I have used Eco Sol Max inks...
SP-300
I converted my SP-300 to an SP-300V and back to an SP-300 for the following reasons.
I have a new version of VersaWorks software and my problem is I am getting an error message when I start my SP-300v and the VersaWorks software that say's it cannot recognize my inks which are the Eco...

My SP-300 uses ColorRip software.
Should it work the same as VersaWorks software.
I have all of the white letters outlined with the cut line color Magenta just not sure what setting to use simply to preform the cutting part.
Do I need to hit print and cut or simply cut?
Thanks Jim
This is something I have never used my SP-300 for in the past.
Customer simply wants white number cut out with no line other then the Magenta cut line. I will then apply transfer paper.
I have tried a few different settings with no luck so far.
Would appreciate all help.

Eco Sol Max 3 inks upgrade
I see that when you order a New set of Eco Sol Max 3 inks from a Roland Dealer that there is a way to upgrade your printer without getting a tech involved to the New Eco Sol Max 3 inks
Right now there is a list or printers that...
I just converted back to an SP-300 and Color Rip software
Since I could not figure out the problems with the ink sets I just converted back to my SP-300 and Color Rip software which is working perfectly again.
Until someone comes up with a solution for the Eco Sol ink problem or Roland adds...

VersaWorks CD
The VersaWorks CD I received with the SP-300V was version 3.0
I just was not sure how the updates worked or if they honored an older version.
Do I also need the drivers for windows 7 or do I just need to update VersaWorks?
Thanks again for all the great help.
Jim
A while back someone told me that when you purchase a used Roland printer to register it with Roland and then you can download a newer version of VersaWorks for it for free.
Anyone know if this is true or not true?
Thanks Jim
My question is will a Roland SP-300 support post scrip 3 or 2 when sending vector images to it?
I am still using ColorRip software and Windows 7 if that makes any difference.
Thanks Jim
Alps Printer
Finding someone with an Alps Printer would make this project an easy one since Alps Printers use a ribbon style print system that uses white ink and it's also waterproof ink.
I still have 3 or 4 old Alps Printers that had banding issues and I could not find anyone to repair them...
