I am wondering if maybe I should have my Corel X-8 on a lap top that is not online. If I do not upgrade what are the chances they will turn off my X-8 that I already paid for? Thanks Jim
  2. CorelDRAW - Version Upgrades Going Bye Bye, Subscription-Only Soon

So I guess my options are pay the $199.00 and then start paying monthly or is it only billed yearly? Or I can stay using X-8 and never get another update. Since I may only work for one more year anyway it really does not matter to much what I do. Jim

In my case I think I will just keep using X-8 because I am very happy with it and I never fell into the group that every year had to have the latest version of Coreldraw. I used to only upgrade every four years or so anyway. I just need to be sure that they are not going to some how stop...

  6. Who is responsible for paying for repairs a serviceman created by their own doing?

My labor rate is between $35.00 and $55.00 dollars @ hour. I do not charge a trip charge at all. I am in business to make money but I don't try and make a killing on each of my customers. I have been in business for the past 18 years doing the exact same way. Jim Hill
  7. Who is responsible for paying for repairs a serviceman created by their own doing?

After reading all of the different comments I must admit that I am happy I do all of my own service on my printer. I certainly do not know everything about fixing printers but I do have the ability to read and learn and if I do make a mistake I know just who to blame. I also have become friends...

I have an SP-300V that works just fine but because I have owned it for a number of years I am considering maybe buying an BN-20 I only use my printer a few times a week and everything I make is between 3.5" and 8" and I really do not do any production runs for decals. I would like to hear from...
  9. Who is responsible for paying for repairs a serviceman created by their own doing?

One major problem now a day's is that many electrical parts you purchase are dead on arrival! I notice that each year it seems to be getting harder to find Roland SP-300V cap tops and dampers and other parts that routinely get replaced. Because I service my own printer some dealers will not sell you the parts unless then can install them. Looking for places to buy parts. Thanks Jim
  12. SP300V factory test print not 100% black?

Because the cleaning solution attacks the hoses and the rubber in a syringe I started used a brake bleeder that is normally used for bleeding brakes on a car. I found this to work much better then using a syringe. The cleaning solution also attacks the hoses on the brake bleeder. Jim

  15. Suggestions New way to pull ink through the lines when you need to.

Netsol: I forgot to mention that it also comes with a plastic trap for catching the ink. I really found this method to work so much faster and better then the using syringes. Getting the proper connection with syringes and hoses has always been a pain! Jim
  16. Suggestions New way to pull ink through the lines when you need to.

I have used syringes for years when I had to pull in from under the cap tops. Recently I had an ink cartridge run out of ink and my SP-300V no longer let's me know when this is about to happen. When this happens the ink flows from one damper into another damper and the bottom line is it creates...
