  1. Printing Problem with Roland Versacamm vs-640i

I have an idea, but I need to know your ink configuration first.
  2. SP540-V Temperature too low error

The fuses and output transistors can be checked with a multimeter. However, blown fuses and shorted transistors don't typically give you this error. If the ribbons were crisscrossed on the same head, it likely damaged other circuitry on the mainboard, which would be difficult to diagnose and...
  3. Printing Problem with Roland Versacamm vs-640i

As hand851 asked, let's start with a nozzle check. Having the exact same issue with a new head means the head isn't the problem. You appear to have changed just about everything that could be an issue. Is the captop a Roland OEM or aftermarket. If aftermarket, then I would suggest replacing it...
  4. SP540-V Temperature too low error

How did you switch the cables? Did you switch them like the attached diagram or did you switch the cables on the one head, i.e., move the left cable to the right side of the head and vice versa? The attached diagram is the only acceptable way to switch cables. You don't want to swap cables on...

FYI, you will need a multimeter. If you don't have one, you can pick one up at Home Depot for a few bucks. If you haven't used one before, no worries, I walk you through it.

  8. New Product CN2 Repair $175

Very tiring on the eyes, having also been there, done that. Worst was a massive USB chip on a Seiko 64 mainboard.

  12. JV3-130 SP II

What color ink cartridges are in the printer? The 160S is a 3 head printer using CMYKLcLm, meaning it uses light cyan & light magenta inks. I do not see the light inks in your nozzle test.
  13. Question Roland XR-640 Felt Wiper

It only uses 1 wiper and 1 felt wiper. Both heads are inline, not staggered, so they both use the same wipers.
  14. [SOLVED]Roland XC-540 Alignment Issue

You have an encoder issue. What did you clean the encoder strip with? Hopefully not cleaning solution! Code 0110 is bad data from the encoder strip. This is the best way to do this. You will need gloves, a clean microfiber cloth and acetone. Yes, acetone... It will not damage the encoder strip...
  15. **HELP** VP-540 Not Printing

If you do any cable swapping, use the attached pic as a guide, as you don't want to swap cables on the same head. The 2 cables on a single head carry different data, signals, voltages, etc., so never swap on a single head, only from head to head as shown in the attached pic. Otherwise, you can...
  16. **HELP** VP-540 Not Printing

The fuses you need to check are marked in the attached pic. Do as ExpertWideformat suggested with a syringe on the caps. Do pull very gently.
  17. Need Help Roland XC-540

Power off, reseat the ribbon cables to the printheads you removed. FYI, the head rank code will have nothing to do with the heads not firing, it only affects the performance of the head firing correctly. Also, recheck all the ribbons and connections on the head board. See if everything works...
  18. Roland VP540 no magenta

The main thing is you have found the problem. And now you have some experience at changing printheads!
  19. JV3-130 SP II

You seriously need to reconsider. If you haven't bought it yet, then don't. The printer does NOT have 2 heads, it has 3. It originally was designed as a CMYKx2 printer with 4 printheads. It look like it was converted to 6 color mode, i.e., CMYKLcLm and the third head has black? ink in it or...
  20. Roland VP540 no magenta

It seems like you may have a bad print head. First - do a nozzle test print to show the current head condition, which I will need you to post. You can determine this by doing the following. You are going to do a ribbon swap, but it must be done exactly as follows. Please refer to the attached...
