  12. System restore on XP- what is restored?

    System Restore should only restore system settings, not personal data. Did you delete the old email account from Thunderbird? Did you delete the old email account from your old ISP (Internet Provider)? You may have a few ways out here.

    Not much wear and tear in sleep / hibernation, but virtually none when it is powered down. I always close programs individually as well. This give me the chance to review my open files to make sure that I have saved them and also reduces the chance of potential file corruption during a hard...

    I shut them all down every day. I don't use sleep mode. Power savings and less wear and tear. Monitors go off every night as well. Might as well, less than 10 seconds to boot anyhow.
