  1. Why would the file size be so big?

I took 4 years of graphic design courses and they never went over file size or file creation techniques. If it looked good, that's all that mattered. It wasn't until I worked at a sign shop that I learned just how inefficient my files were. My guess is not only high res raster images on multiple...
  2. Check fraud scam, new on me, at least this way

We might get 1% on a debit card swiped in person but CCs are going to be 2 - 3% usually. AmEx is almost always higher. Here in America some rich guy has to get his cut before us normies get ours.
  3. Wiper

If you take the cover off that covers the pump and below the maintenance station I believe it will expose the wiper sensor. It's hard without a picture to point out but the cover sort of looks like a glove box. Should be like 3 screws and it will come off.
  4. Wiper

Yeah it's just not making it back to the origin. It's possible the motor is failing but that is very rare. You might try cleaning the sensor with some alcohol. Here's a picture of where that sensor is.
  5. Wiper

The wiper slides along a piece of metal and sometimes ink build up on there. Try cleaning that up and putting some grease on it. Basically if the wiper can't move smoothly, it doesn't end up at it's home position and gives you the error. It could be a bad sensor but since yours is making weird...

  8. Any tips on manually flushing my print head

I usually like to push some solution through very gently just to fill the channels with solution and then let it sit for a minute or two. Give the solvent some time to break up the dried ink. Then push just hard enough to see the solution spray out. It will sort of bubble out of the bottom at...
  9. Need Help How to use 2 Mimaki CG-160FXII Plus on 1 PC Desktop?

Power the machine on while holding the Enter and End keys. It will boot in system parameter mode. Just a note, there may not even be a serial parameter but in my experience with Mimaki their printers do have that parameter. So change at your own risk but it is what I would try if it were me.
  10. Need Help How to use 2 Mimaki CG-160FXII Plus on 1 PC Desktop?

You probably didn't do anything wrong if the firmware loaded without errors. I'm thinking maybe someone reset the machines back to factory defaults. That may have cleared the serial number data. If it were me, I would go into the parameters and see if there is one labeled, "Serial" and change...
  11. Need Help How to use 2 Mimaki CG-160FXII Plus on 1 PC Desktop?

Is it possible these machines both had the mainboard changed? The only thing I can think of is the boards were changed, firmware was loaded, but parameters weren't so they didn't get a serial number and the machines default to 0s.
  12. Discussion Plotter/Cutter of Choice?

You can't go wrong with a Mimaki, Graphtec, or Summa.
  13. Moving Printer 3 miles away. Best way to move it?

Don't even empty it. As long as you're not going to be tipping the machine at high angles, removing ink is not necessary especially if you're just moving down the road.
  14. Need Help How to use 2 Mimaki CG-160FXII Plus on 1 PC Desktop?

Each USB port should have the serial number of the machine next to it. Since it doesn't, I would say you need to update the driver. If that's up to date, something is up because I've never seen the serial number be 0000000. The serial number is how the computer knows which machine to send to.

In that case, I would check the printer settings in the RIP. I know in Flexi there is a setting that tells the printer to use one head or the other or both and it's in the tab to the right of the tab you use to choose your profile. The icon should look like a little printer.
  17. King toss corn hole

From the official American Cornhole Association, I'm not kidding: • The board finish shall be sanded to a very smooth texture, and there shall not be any blemishes in the wood surface that might disrupt or distort play. • The board can be painted with a semi-gloss exterior latex paint resulting...
  18. Not sure which Epson Printer to purchase

Basically Epson doesn't give access to certain resources if you are not officially trained. So your dealer's tech probably just hasn't been trained on them. You could probably find an independent tech to work on them but they wouldn't be able to do warranty work. I hear Epson service is pretty...
  19. Watchfire Signs acquired by Private Equity Firm

Sears wasn't only mismanaged, it was mismanaged on purpose to tank it's stock so short sellers could cash in. It's the business model of Boston Consulting Group. Tank vulnerable companies, tell your customers to short the stock, profit.
  20. Mutoh 1628x flexi profile

What process did you go through to change the ink set? If you just put color ink in and changed the profile without reconfiguring the ink set in the printer parameters itself, sending over a file using a CMYK profile would most likely only print with the one head that was originally CMYK...
