My two cents: Most people think designing is easy and that what they put on paper to you is artwork.....NOT. You will never get around those customers, I don't care who you are or what plan you have in place. This is one luxury you will have to do without.

I always prime and seal the entire sign. It is up to the customer if he wants it panted. I get customers who want it now and as long as it is primed and sealed properly, you are fine. I usually do paint backs on signs if there is no rush.

All this French aside.....quote your customer. Take the chance and get the job at a fair price for your work. You don't ask, you don't get. Rejection is never fun, but it does pay off......

I do donate signs to local charities or organizations(veterans, police, humane society....) that come to me asking for donations($). I don't see any referrals from it, but I'm doing a little bit for the cause.

I would never allow a designer to just sit and only design unless he was the money maker for my company. This means that without his talents my company would fail and he was highly skilled(if he could not easily be replaced) If he can't ateast pick up a phone, he's worthless. Everyone...

Really.....?????? I am the one who must put a smile on my face and make everyone happy....it is my job in life as a woman. If I was sensitive I would be offended, but then I would not be on Signs101. It is very funny though and a good way to end the week.

I have customers take pictures of projects regularly and I in no way will quote a job based solely on that. I can measure based on the surface such as.....bricks, wood planks, etc, but that would be a foolish thing to do on my part. Me thinks that customers usually need to be educated...

Hey Steve....I am North of Atlanta. I am about 15 minutes away from Camp Merrill, Special Forces Abound. I prefer north Georgia to South Georgia, but it's all good in my opinion. The landscape is nice up here. If you are ever up this way, feel free to drop in.
