  1. Substrate pricing

Geez... my single sheet pricing for .040 styrene is $10.82 Anyway, a poor man's methodology to cover your butt for all costs is to charge AT LEAST 3.5X your material cost. This logically works out ok on stuff like 6mm PVC where your average sell price would be about $6 a square foot, but if you...
  2. Looking for a one color fading gradient graphic

Google Images + Halftone gradient. Once you see what you want - just make it in Illustrator then you can blow it up big as Mars if you need
  3. ProWraps, hate to break your heart but...

Don't forget the king of all scripted TV - Pro Wrestling. EVERYTHING is scripted and it still draws better crowds than the NBA and NHL. In the end - the lemmings just want to be entertained to take their minds off their everyday world... so what does it matter. I watch Gold Rush just to see who...
  4. New 9 Mil Grey Back Textured Roll Up Film from Bigfish!

What is recommended print method (aqueous/solvent/UV) and do you need to laminate?
  5. New from Charlotte NC

Tell Jim I said hi Sean
  6. Perf: What are you using?

I print Solvex brand with CET flatbed with no lam. Never had an issue inside or out.
  7. Surely the best street painting

Yep... and next time I am terrified at the top of a ski jump tower I will snap that photo with my handy panoramic camera!
  8. Ceiling hangers

    Thanks, Mike
  9. Ceiling hangers

Where is everyone who does this sort of thing getting their chain, drop ceiling rail hooks and "S" hooks for hanging retail posters? I know Hang Ups and PopCo, but are there others? thanks
  10. Surely the best street painting

Yep... been trying to come up with something like that for our bathroom area at work, but don't think the angle will work right. Would be cool to look like you were walking into a hole or something.
  11. Long time, first time.

Well, yeah, you gotta have a way to measure the patches and get it done correctly. I still think every manufacturer should just include a spectro in the sales package when you buy the printer and you can opt out if you already own one.
  12. Long time, first time.

Bradley, Who is doing the install? Comparing CET to Gandi isn't very fair, now is it? Your install techs are machine guys most likely and in alot of service organizations - they are there to install the machine and get it in operating condition. Color management is separate training. If you go...
  13. Open letter to Barry Weiss.

How about a reality show featuring somebody from out of this industry trying to make it in the sign and graphics world - could call it Signvivor. Or better yet, take rich overly hyped celebrities and make them live in Cabrini Green or Compton and survive on welfare and food stamps for 1 month...
  14. Wholesale printing

Its not that its good or bad - I find it convenient to see a special pop up when I sign into the forum or am in a thread like this. But I surmise somewhere down the line there will be a peeved shop owner somewhere in the US who runs across a customer who demands $3.50 a square foot for wrap...
  15. Wholesale printing

Just because the pricing shows up here doesn't mean that everyone who views this site gets that price. Most guys that offer wholesale services require you to send in a resale certificate or some proof that you are actually in the print business.
  16. where do you get your retractable banner stands from?

What is the correct I-max website?
  17. where do you get your retractable banner stands from?

Ohhh... i responded to this type of post a few months back. Almost everyone online is rebranding Orbus... so you might as well go to them direct. 90% of Creative Banner is Orbus, same for Signs+Banners. Expand Media is good stuff, but pricey. Same goes for Testrite. Mark Bric is out there, too...
  18. Looking for a Flatbed or Hybrid UV - Quality over Speed

Don't even list Anderson as an option. You need to decide if you want dedicated flatbed or need hybrid ability - then list the machines in each category. Then list plusses and minusses for each down the line. I own very first CET and have no regrets.
  19. new rastek tf1000 having problems.... any help would be great

If you are looking at that printer - do yourself a favor and look at the new CET models. Lesser known company, but much better machine.
