  1. Ford F-150 tailgate insert decal?

Has anyone set these F-150 inlay decals up before? (See picture) Doing one for a friend this week and thought it was worth a shot in case someone has done it before. I know I can buy them online (don't have time to bring it in now, and would have to match other graphics we're doing) but will...
  2. Summa S2 T Series Dog Muck

I can say with absolute certainty that this works!! I thought the suggestion was a joke at first then we tried it out and haven't looked back. Even the tech that was here installing our F series last week was impressed/surprised by the simple fix. Thanks to Bly's suggestion we were able to...
  3. Review Mimaki UCJV300-160 vs Mutoh 1682SR

We're running the LUS-170 ink on our UCJV but I personally wouldn't trust the LUS-200 ink for wrapping. I do believe it is 3M certified for wrap films but when you see how thick the ink lay down is on this machine you would understand my concerns. It's also a fair bit more expensive than the...
  4. 6" high, 1/4" thick acrylic letters on aluminum cladding

Sounds like a good method. Will have to give it a shot! Thanks for the tips. :thumb:
  5. 6" high, 1/4" thick acrylic letters on aluminum cladding

Interesting. Can you pen plot to that stuff? What about marking the hole locations?
  6. 6" high, 1/4" thick acrylic letters on aluminum cladding

Thanks, will definitely be playing around with this soon. Summa/router will be up and running next week and will do some trial runs. Any tips for making your own patterns? I think for this one I'll just base it on Gemini and see if we get the job.
  7. 6" high, 1/4" thick acrylic letters on aluminum cladding

Fair enough, that's a good point. Some of those VHB liners are a real b*tch to peel too.
  8. 6" high, 1/4" thick acrylic letters on aluminum cladding

Ish. I think I'll base the Gemini & labor on using studs just in case, and if we can get away with just VHB/lexel maybe we can save a couple of bucks.
  9. 6" high, 1/4" thick acrylic letters on aluminum cladding

That sounds brutal. I would have just ordered w/ letters and patterns! :D
  10. 6" high, 1/4" thick acrylic letters on aluminum cladding

The area, or the install surface? lol
  11. Head Height

Yep. Doesn't make sense that you should be increasing the distance between print heads and media for no reason. More distance = more overspray and less crisp prints. I'd look for a new tech. The only time we EVER run high head height is when printing thick banner stock.
  12. 6" high, 1/4" thick acrylic letters on aluminum cladding

Hey guys, thanks for the tips. Sorry, I completely forgot to include the part that it is an exterior install. All upper case letters. Would be mounted flat to aluminum cladding no no ribs/corrugations to worry about. Pic attached of install location. (Previous letters and cladding has been...
  13. Is my Summa a lemon?

Definitely sounds like something electrical or firmware related - that's a long list of random issues. I can't comment on the newer models like yours, but we have an older S140T and it has never done anything like that. Once we got the hang of it (and all of CutServer's quirks) it has been...
  14. best printer for yard signs

Those are some crazy speeds. Roughly what are those units selling for?
  15. 6" high, 1/4" thick acrylic letters on aluminum cladding

Quoting a small simple project for a new customer. 6" tall, 1/4" thick acrylic letters, overall length around 126". I'm either going with Gemini or just routing in-house depending on when if/when we get the order. For something like that, would you guys feel comfortable going with anything...
  16. 4Over Closed Canadian Facility

Well that's unfortunate. Definitely sucks paying/waiting for shipping from their US facilities.
  17. Curious how you deal with this type of job

Print white, then color, on clear vinyl. Clear vinyl = you can leave a border or outline and no one will ever notice.
  18. Suggestions For walk-in sign businesses - Your COVID-19 update tips

Agreed. As much as a shut down may have been a good idea initially to help slow the spread, the economy is going to take years to bounce back from this. We have been very fortunate here (knock on wood) and haven't had any new reported cases in almost 2 weeks, in a city with almost 800,000...
  19. Suggestions For walk-in sign businesses - Your COVID-19 update tips

I catch your drift, but does it really matter if you can solely blame covid for the deaths or if it's a combination of covid and preexisting medical conditions? I think too many people are concerned over the numbers and how they are possibly being manipulated. Either way, that many people...
