  1. SUMMA D140R - I need serious help.

I do a kiss cut, then a perf cut .2" out... I already kiss cut this whole roll (Took 30 mins to kiss cut 150 ft, however the decals are huge). I like to perf cut .2" so they can crack and peel the stickers. but yes, it was kiss cut first. It'll kiss cut, then ask you to switch the blade and...
  2. SUMMA D140R - I need serious help.

We kiss cut, and then perf. We load a whole roll in... tell the graphtec to cut, it'll cut...re-roll it... then we just plop it in the back and tell it to perf cut...that way youre only switching blade positions once... not for every job. Yes, it adds a whopping 10-20 seconds per job to...
  3. SUMMA D140R - I need serious help.

here, I just did a quick video. This is it reading the barcode, then starting to cut - you can see the speed in it. Usually I do it on roll to roll....Walk away and come back in few hours when the whole roll is perf cut, then pop out once it's done. I left it off just to show how it cuts as...
  4. SUMMA D140R - I need serious help.

If youre doing that many cut throughs why go with a summa? The cutting strips on these machines need to stay flat and even or you'll get spots that don't cut through properly. I know the summa has a stronger strip than a graphtec.... But if you're cutting through so much... Your strip is going...
  5. FC8600 cutting off only on holographic material

Put some masking tape over the cutting marks and redraw them with a ruler.
  6. Potentially being sued

Removing wallpaper is a pain without the right tools. Personally I would have bought a cheap $10 bucket of paste and used that to put it up. Pre-pasted wallpaper isnt always good... especially if its old stock. turns out theirs wasnt good.... No harm in re-pasting it with real stuff before...
  7. Cutting circular printed vinyl graphics (basic)

Summa can only perf/through cut square shapes I thought - Maybe thats where the issue is? I dont have one... just going by what summa recommends. Of course what they recommend, and real life is always different...so maybe its possible. but If not... I would kiss cut a circle, then through cut...
  8. Best Intermediate Printable Vinyl?

You use 8519 on IJ35?! Why not 8509? Match calandered with calandered... Using 8519 wont get you anymore longevity out of IJ35. And as mentioned... Ij35 shouldnt be used on vehicles. Switch to Ij40 / 8509 for your intermediate vinyl... Ij35 shouldnt be used on anything other than very short...
  9. Question First Eco Solvent printer

You wont be doing hull decals without a laminator. If your volume is not high enough to purchase a proper setup... Sub it out to another company until you get enough work for it to make sense. 8K is too much as well. You can buy a brand new Latex 115 for 8-9K... Put it on a lease and you can...
  10. Printing Magnetic Roll on Seiko 104S

Weve tried a few times with our latex. It worked good, then one day we Had a bad head strike that killed two heads.... Now we just print on cheap vinyl and laminate it ontop of the magnet when we have a full roll to do. No risk of a head strike and it only takes 10-15 mins to roll it in via...
  11. First time PVC user - Can I flat glue small pieces to wood signs/ exterior

We would use pins and glue it on with construction glue. https://www.lepage.ca/en/lepage-products/build-things/construction-adhesive/pl-construction-adhesive/pl_premium_fast_grabconstructionadhesive.html I never see this stuff recommended in here.... Makes me wonder if it's a Canadian...
  12. Regular Laminate for Floors?

A store came to us because they bought a hundred or so 6 ft markers on Craigslist... They out a couple on their walls and decided to move them. Buy were they pissed when it tore chunks off.... We use removable for floors, and all our covid decals - you never know where people are going to put it.
  13. Print & Cut Solution for new user

UV's auto cleaning is nice - But one thing you forgot to mention is it gets expensive. I dont know about the particular machine you guys have, however our FB500 just chugs ink when it's not in use. We mainly do real estate signs on ours - Its pretty dead at x-mas time, So very light use - I...
  14. Boat Registration Numbers Complaint...for real???

Tell him you can re cut it. But if he wants the numbers changed you.have to re set up the art to make it compatible with your cutter and there will be an artwork fee - and sadly 90% of the cost of boat decals is artwork labor.... The material is cheap. Tell him you can easily resize it so it's...
  15. 3M material recommendations

I shouldn't have said garbage  For a calandered it's not bad. It does shrink... Well use It for indoors but, but never for outdoors or for a wrap. The "lowest" we go for signage or flat graphics is ij40... It's still a calandered... But it doesn't shrink and is rated for 7 years. Ij35...
  16. 3M material recommendations

Ij35 is cast and garbage. Use 180lse if money's not a concern. It is thin and air release... But it won't come off, it's a high tac vinyl. Or at the very keast switch to ij40... I wouldn't use 35 on anything outdoors meant to last. 180 is thin... 1080/2080 is better. 180 we usually overlam.
  17. 3M material recommendations

7725 is a good cut vinyl if it's just a single color your doing... But it's not air egress. I'd use 180-colored or 1080/2080 for that. For printing - if you're looking for wrap grade.... 180 for the wraps. For tankers and propane tanks.... Anything with cold liquid we use 180 lse to ensure...
  18. Aluminum Trucks... Again!

You can buy some decently powerful magnets on Amazon / eBay. We took apart a truck door.. Glued them on the inside... And then a magnet stuck to it. It's a pain in the ass. And we've only had to do it once for.a customer in the same position as yours.... But in a pinch it works. I believe...
  19. Question Does Anyone Make a Printer That Can Sit Idle Without harm?

Two full rolls for this one job. Where we didn't rotate panels, or do anything special. 12-15ft long panels that aligned perfectly and didn't shift in color. I'm not saying that's impressive... Just that while some people can't print a wall wrap without issues.... We haven't had a...
  20. Export as EPS or PDF ? whats the difference ?

I use google... Their business suite is $15, and gives unlimited. It's technically only unlimited if you have 5 accounts... but I'm using a single account, and I'm at a usage you'll likely never achieve and they havent done anything... ;p it's a little known secret they give everyone unlimited...
