  1. Stop the Skateboarders

+1 (and I never skateboarded a day in my life.) If this is a problem for your customer, it's likely a problem for all of the businesses in that area. Signs won't solve the problem. I would suggest bringing local business owners together (maybe there is an existing organization - like a downtown...
  2. Best way to advertise

Thanks Dan. I've enjoyed our talks - and getting to know you a little. Cheers.
  3. Best way to advertise

Lots of terrific suggestions above, but the most important thing you can do is start with a clear objective, a strategy, a plan, and system for tracking and analyzing results. Otherwise, you risk wasting alot of time and money.
  4. New logo....thoughts?

    Hey! Check this mofo out.
  5. Critique time....

Ha! Cool! Sorry for the sloppy typing above. There may have been gin involved.
  6. Business Models

I can't believe I substituted "offer" for "author" above. All I can say is that it was late, had been a long day, and there may have been gin involved.
  7. Critique time....

Dude! You are totally missing out on an opportunity to make her a pinup girl (in pink overalls, on her ladder). If you don't have the chops. Hire somebody! Maybe somebody here (at signs101.com), bit - if not - maybe here.
  8. We lost a member

R.I.P. Jimmy, and my deepest condolences to the Carl family.
  9. Business Models

Hi Jim. I discovered that book when it was a work-in-progress, had tweeted with it's offer... and had completely forgotten about it. Thanks for the reminder!:goodpost:
  10. Surgery Early in the Morning

All the best, Arlo... Hope it's not as bad as you remember.
  11. Over designing signs

I agree with Si and Rick. If you're making a habit of giving away design (which I doubt)... then smarten up! If you're spending a few extra minutes (when you have it) to go above-and-beyond to give customers something extra - and enjoying doing it - stop worrying. You're probably learning...
  12. Changing logo/company name - need your opinion

Schramm / Antique Mirror Glass Company... If you don't find at least some inspiration here, I will be surprised.
  13. Happy Happy Birthday GypsyGraphics

    Happy 29th!
  14. Starting out

Bob. Your vocabulary is brilliant. But it sounds like you need a big hug. Too bad you don't live closer. It's amusing to me that people (yourself, one recently banned... and perhaps others) seem to have this notion that I am here to motivate people. I'm not. As far as I'm concerned, trying...
  15. crazy client aren't they all

I'm curious: How much would the coro sign the customer wants cost him, and how much would the aluminum sign you are recommending cost him?
  16. Starting out

Poetic as usual, Bob. But smaller thinking than I know you are capable of. And it's "du jour".:toasting:
  17. Starting out

Price is but one element of your marketing mix. It's not unimportant, but don't give it more attention than it deserves. And don't confuse yourself by thinking that your competitors are charging anywhere near the price(s) the market will bear. There are four (arguably more) P's in your...
  18. New logo....thoughts?

No worries Rob. Looking forward to hearing how you make out! Signboy - thanks! Good idea to offer more than just the shirts. So? What productive stuff did you get up to this weekend, so far?
  19. New logo....thoughts?

Hey Rob. Glad you liked the suggestions. :) If you're starting out with a great plan, but minimal cash, just try to get as close to delivering and communicating the brand experience as you possibly can, with whatever resources you can muster. Sorry. Corporate-speak. Let me try that again...
